Free Camping

There are many places to camp for free in an RV or tent in the United States. RV boondocking locations include Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land and National Forests. Some National Parks have dispersed camping opportunities but a fee is required for entrance, although not for camping.

Some states have land managed by the Department of Fish Wildlife. For example, there are many places you can camp for free in Washington state with a Discover Pass.

Most locations that allow free camping have limit to the number of days you can stay. Be sure to check the rules on the campsite’s official website and always remember to tread lightly.
