“Sunset ticks”

We arrived and set up the tent very relieved to have gotten through the narrow, winding road in in our small car. Even with ATVs and bikes brapping around, we were very pleased that this place was only a $5 adventure pass. We then started to notice tiny bugs getting through the netting of the tent and dropping on us. We have a one year old baby so when we found that they were ticks and they were everywhere in minutes, we had to kill as many as we could and pack up and leave in the dark. Straight up blood suckers chased us out just as we laid down to sleep. Ended up paying for a $14 site on the other side of the interstate at the beginning of Fred Canyon Road. Very disappointing but that's life. Definitely stay away from the first sites and if you're in a vehicle just make sure you're fully sealed before sunset and I really don't recommend tent camping.
