“Solid boondock not too far from Winthrop”

Reviewed Jun 14, 2017

Overall Rating

This is a nice area. There is a big wide open area to camp and also a forested area further in you can camp. Lots of sites with rock ringed fire pits. River runs though it. What was nice was it was very windy down in Winthrop, but up here at this boondock there was very little wind.

The weekend brought a few more campers but still not bad for an August weekend. Right on the river and free except for Discovery Pass (no one was checking for it). We enjoyed hikes to the nearby waterfalls,... more

“Wide open free camping with WA Discover Pass”

Reviewed Jul 06, 2016

This was an amazing boondocking site. Free area with hiking, biking and a river to float. Did hear that this area is very busy during hunting season and around Memorial weekend. No water, no trash but a pit toilet. Lots of wide open space to roam. Barely had any cell service, even with a booster. Verizon would come and go, ATT had... more
