There are no paved sitting areas, but there are picnic tables and trash cans at each site. There are two water spigots - one between the first 2 sites and the other between the 3rd and 4th site. There is no dump station. Very easy to get to and maneuver into each site for any sized rig. If a tug or toad doesn't fit on the concrete pad, there are ample parking spaces adjacent to the sites. The camp sites are right across the street from the High School, which wasn't an issue. The park is home to the city pool, a full basketball court, a tennis court which also has 2 sets of lines and a portable net for playing pickleball, bathrooms and a playground. The town also offers Mary's Restaurant, a bar, a pair of convenience stores and a Subway shop.
Just a block off of US 20 lends to a good deal of road noise most of the day. The town blasts a siren at 6:57AM, 11:57AM and 5:57PM each day. Good Verizon signal. The bathrooms certainly need some maintenance.
Not the most relaxing campsite, but for free, it is hard to beat if needing a spot in the area for up to 3 nights.

Nice little town. There are flush toilets available and 20/30/50 amp service. No water or dump site. There is a small grocery store you can walk to in 5 minutes. This park is across the street from the High School and there was an event going on, so it was a pretty busy area. We are one block North of the main street going through town and it is a bit noisy. After 9:00 pm things started to quiet down quite a bit.
The park is very well maintained and clean. The rest rooms have toilet and sink with cold water only and could use some updates but were clean.
We walked 5 blocks to Mary's restaurant and had dinner. It was OK with good service but nothing to write home about. As is typical of these small towns, everyone is friendly and helpful.
Painview appears to be a very well managed town, is clean, not run down, etc.
Verizon had full bars + LTE tested at 16Mbps down and 10 up without booster on my phone inside the trailer.
We would definitely stay here again.

Had a great stay at Chilvers park. Also had an awesome storm display of lightning and thunder with rain. The park is beautiful walking distance to Mary’s restaurant. There is also keystone bar. The bathroom needs clean up. But otherwise lovely. Free electricity and water. No dump site at park.

We spent some money in the town at Subway (which also has Goodrich ice cream/shakes), Casey’s General Store (fuel and stuff), and I got a great $15 + tip haircut at Hwy 20 Salon. The park is awesome with tennis courts, a pavilion, and a great playground for kids right beside the swimming pool which was down for the winter when we arrived. We talked to someone who used to manage the maintenance in the park and he said they had to take down the donation box as kids kept stealing the $. We have learned that most small towns in NE have some form of free to affordable RV camping with electricity.

We stumbled upon this little place (4 spots only) and it was awesome. Located at the edge of a beautiful park in a cute little Americana town. Public pool & really nice play structures. Sites are clean and level. And 30/50amp power. FREEEEE! Right on Route 20, so super easy access. Would highly recommend!

Was looking forward to stopping here after reading the last review and it was right on my route home to KY.
As we drove into town there is a huge sign welcoming RV's for a few free nights....pulled in about an hour before sunset, and found all the sites taken-- normally that would be ok... nothing ventured, nothing gained. EXCEPT-- the first slot had a travel trailer that looked like it had moved in, complete with yard deco and a large for sale sign... second slot -- Class A (valid).... third slot was the same fifth wheel that is in the picture from June, obviously it has not been moved.. the fourth slot had a car parked there with Nebraska plates on it and the sign clearly visible at the end of this states "Camper parking only!".... yes, we had had a long day and it was late, not to mention that we hadn't eaten yet --- had hoped to find something in town ... will not go back to this town... BTW---- remember to alway write reviews, they are read and appreciated!!
thank you
