“love the music!”

Reviewed Feb 18, 2019

Overall Rating

This is a scenic spot in the Mojave with room for one or two rig in the loop around the tower. The wind was up a bit and causing some lilting flute-like music which I found really cool. (is that why it is named Dharma Tower?). Good LTE service and dirt road in was short with only a couple ruts.

“Just the way we like it!”

Reviewed Jan 12, 2019

Overall Rating

Easy access, quiet, great views, and free. The only down side is that the antenna will play havoc with the solar panel, but for an overnight, it was wonderful.

“OK as a last resort”

Reviewed Jan 02, 2019

Overall Rating

We arrived at Mojave too late in the day to get a good dispersed site, so had to settle for parking next to this big metal carbuncle and its corrugated-steel shack. Unless you're equally desperate, keep moving - you can do way better in this Preserve.

“Magical star show!”

Reviewed Dec 23, 2016

Overall Rating

We had a wonderful evening in the stars in late December. We parked right at the tower and rigged up a hammock to the fencing for one of us to sleep. Dogs loved the area, and we had the tower all to ourselves! Easy stopover en route to New Mexico.
A little road noise, but absolutely canceled out by glittering stars.

“We didn't stay here because we couldn't find it in the dark. But with our GPS coordinates you will even if it's dark out.”

Reviewed Apr 08, 2016

Overall Rating

The lesson learned when we tried to find Dharma Towers is that trying to find a new boondocking spot in the dark on an empty stomach is a terrible idea. Oh, and Google or Apple maps doesn’t always know everything. If you type in the GPS coordinates for the actual tower location (34.7691, -115.6391) Google and Apple maps will tell you t... more

“Cell Service in the Mojave”

Reviewed Aug 02, 2014

Overall Rating

We've stayed here twice. I wouldn't recommend anyone with a rig longer than ours coming here. We have a 27 foot Airstream and camp right at the tower. As you pull in, go to the right of the tower so you can ultimately drive all the way around and head back out. Make sure to camp off of the road, because there are cars that come th... more
