“Scenic, easy access, free”

Reviewed Nov 08, 2018

Overall Rating

There are 3 clearly marked camping areas not far from the highway. Beautiful views of hurricane ridge. It’s not a huge space but there is room for at least 8 campers I would say. About a half hour from Zion or St George.

“Very windy spot”

Reviewed Oct 11, 2018

Overall Rating

This spot is great if you have a big rig or trailer. Wouldn’t recommend for tent campers as it gets super windy. We were in a trailer and still moved the next day because of the high winds. Some roads are a little rough off the main road but should be fine if you have a 4x4 or SUV. Will need a bit of clearance

Its pretty cool camping alongside a cliff that overlooks the Virgin River! Everywhere you look is a sight to see and not to mention the stars are absolutely beautiful at night.

Before you head out here make sure you are camping on BLM land. There is PRIVATE LAND next to BLM in this area. (See attached from the bureau of land management) To get to this location you will need to drive about 1,800 ft on a paved road. Then another 795.18 ft on a dirt road to get to the spot. “Free and great views”

Reviewed Apr 07, 2018

We drive a 33ft class A and tow a Nissan Versa. That being said, I was concerned about the condition of the road getting here. We unhitched our Nissan and explored first. We were able to grab a wide open pull through spot right off the paved road. Someone had built a great fire pit. No problem getting the rig here. 25 min to Zion.... more

“Breathtaking View, Rough-ish Roads”

Reviewed Apr 02, 2018

Overall Rating

There is a lot of room, I can't imagine showing up and not being able to find a place to park. Though, anything is possible in the summer I suppose. The roads that lead back to the edge of the cliff that overlooks the dam are fairly rough. 4-Wheel drive recommended. We towed our 30ft pull-behind down here no problem, but it was a li... more

“Great spot for boon docking”

Reviewed Mar 30, 2018

We found a nice spot not far off the road big enough for my 30' 5th wheel and a 22' Airstream. The road in is good and there are at least 4 spots close to the highway. There are more sites but some of those trails are rough (but I've hauled the 5th up worse!). We chose a site on the right as you go in that has a big cement "pad" sort o... more
