Stopped there a Monday so lot of spots were available, police were patrolling the area very often and they confirmed that it’s safe, couple of long timers but otherwise it’s quite and almost clean.

We chose a spot close to the exit near another trailer. We had no desire to look at the bathroom situation, previous reviews said it was just portapotties right now because a storm damaged the building.
Good for a one nighter, that’s about it.

We spent a Sunday night here. Sites were decent sized. We were able to back our 35 foot 5th wheel into a spot pretty easily. Roads were dusty with several people on 4-wheelers ripping by, despite the 15 mph speed limit. Sites needed to be mowed. Bathrooms were closed permanently with a piece of plywood over the door. Roads were dusty with several people on 4-wheelers ripping by, despite the 15 mph speed limit. Sites needed to be mowed. Bathrooms were closed permanently with a piece of plywood over the door. Porta-potties and hand washing stations were outside the bathrooms. There is a water spigot at the bathrooms you can use to fill your tanks. No dump station in town that I was able to find.

Plenty of sites. Make sure you keep going as there are sites further back. We fit our 35’ rig with longbed truck still hitched. Our site was fairly level and sites weren’t too close each other. We found one fairly close the the boat launch and my wife and two boys enjoyed the day playing with frogs while I worked in the trailer. We ran a generator with no issues to run the a/c.
Plenty of cell service. Easily accessible with a bigger rig. Site could use some grooming. We donated $ to try and support the sites

Plenty of space for bigger rigs. Gorgeous waterfront location with lots of big trees to allow for some shade. Even water is available on the back side of the restroom to fill water jugs. The restrooms are portapotty style at this point and they don’t smell great. Overall beautiful location for a 7 night stay!

We have stayed once before in the shoulder season midweek and it was lovely, but this time we are here on a July Saturday evening and it’s packed, lots of vehicles going too fast on the dusty gravel & little kids on tiny motorcycles going round and round the loop. I’d say avoid it mid summer weekends

We happened upon this campground through Campendium. On our way through Montana. Heading home to OREGON, and we’ve never been so surprised it was absolutely amazing and they don’t even charge you. Please leave donations. This is a wonderful thing that the state of Montana and the city of Columbus does I highly recommend this place

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in the site #4, a dry, BI site for a $10 donation. The park has seen better days. It gets used pretty hard by fishermen and river folks as well as campers. The roads are gravel or dirt with a little bit of gravel mixed in. It was easy to navigate. There were lots of tall trees so it provided some shade but not so dense as to completely block my solar panels. The site was level so no additional blocks were needed. The bathroom was in really bad shape – leaking fixtures, peeling paint, dirty, so I didn’t use it. Lots of traffic moved through the park and site 4 is close to the entrance so I heard it a great deal. Trains also rumbled by a number of times. No wifi, didn’t check for OTA channels, had 3 bars LTE with Verizon. It is a free, FCFS campground but they do ask for donations. The area further back near the boat launch had a few sites but none big enough for my rig. The Yellowstone River runs right by the park which is lovely. It was okay for a quick stop. I don’t know that I would want to do an extended stay here, but it was okay for an overnight.

Only weird thing was about every 30 mins one of two unmarked suvs would make the full circle of the grounds . I say unmarked because I thought they might be staff but nothing on tbe vehicle told me so. They also moved at a pretty fast clip and splashed mud everywhere.
They never stopped or even seemed to notice me so I felt plenty safe but I am also almost 6ft and 300 lbs so I don't usually have to worry as much as smaller/ female presenting people.

“Closed - River Flooding”
noted 6/19/2022
No one allowed in the park, totally blocked off. It looks like it’s been flooding due to the high water levels of the river right now. We were super bummed and out of gas to try and make it to any other spot for the night so we risked it in the parking lot across the street from the Pilot
