“Quiet weekdays, busy weekends, great location, spacious sites.”

Reviewed Sep 27, 2018

We boondocked here for 14 days with no issues. Gets busy on the weekends with ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikers but all we encountered were courteous and friendly. Narrow creek runs thru the campground. Wooded, spacious sites with bear proof lockers and fire rings. Well maintained for a free campground! Tons of trails surrounding for hiking and ... more

Very nice wooded forest service campground. Tons of level sites with hardly anyone around. No water or garbage but very clean pit toilet bathrooms. Gentle running creek on west end. Only a mile off 395 but no road noise. Road in was a bit lumpy but no problem for our 27' itasca class A.

This place is amazing. If y’all like Ponderosa Pines and cool breezes, this place is for you. Plenty of room for everyone. There are 50 spaces just in this campsite along and plenty more within a few miles. The restrooms are closed in the off-season I highly recommend this spot. Only 7 miles from Mammoth Lakes. Came to Mammoth for spring snowboarding and this is the first time at this campsite. Great location, so close to Mammoth and has pit toilets. Huge lot. Sign says the campground is closed but there are parked RV’s and tents. So glad to have come here than staying at overpriced condos. Of course, if it were freezing temperature, this ... more

“Great Spot, clean toilets”

Reviewed Oct 18, 2017

Overall Rating

Seriously, these toilets were cleaner then the national park I’ve recently been in. A little highway noise on this end, makes sense as the few other people are at the far end. There’s bear lockers, fire rings and picnic tables. But I did see a notice that the grounds will be closed after 31st October.

“Cant ask for better!”

Reviewed Sep 23, 2017

This was our first free camp and it was awesome! These camp sites are set up with most everything that a regular site has...

Picnic table, fire ring (with grill), and bear box.

The sites past the creek have better cell signal.

My cell numbers are with a wilson 4gx booster.

Glass Creek Campground is a BLM spot in June Lake, CA near Mammoth Mountain. It's extremely easy to access. GCC is right off Highway 395 with only a short dirt road to get to the campsites. There's a ton of spaces for tents, fifth wheelers, toy haulers, and motorhomes. I've seen both backpackers in tents and families with massive RV se... more
