Just North of Mancos, Co. head up towards Transfer Park Campground on County Road 42. Continue past campground, and veer right at the fork towards Jersey Jim Fire Tower. Take Forest Road 350 on right to site.
You’ll find an old camp, just north, on right of road with a break in the trees to the South (37.474245, -108.161591). My 8’ wide trailer made it through fine but check for yourself. If you find it an iffy proposition, there are a few sites just up the road.
Fairly flat site and large enough to turn my 22’ trailer and full size truck around.
This site has fantastic views of Cortez, Sleeping Ute Mountain, the flat top of Mesa Verde, and on clear days you can see Shiprock in New Mexico.
Good solar exposure for charging your batteries.
Warning, this site is about 10K feet.
The road is close by and this area is popular for ATVs. I’ll take the traffic for this view.
