“Fantastic free parking lot camping”

Reviewed Jun 22, 2018

We decided to hit this spot after reading a couple reviews. I am happy to say it is even better than we expected. We pulled into the parking lot of Valley River and the security truck met us and directed us to the area for RVs. You need to check in with security, but they were very friendly and offered us some info on the area. Securit... more

What an amazing place. It's free, it's got a great view that rivals most RV parks, it's well lit and patrolled and there are amazing parks and walking paths all around. What's not to like. We were greeted by security within 5 minutes and told to park over in the northwest lot behind the crossfit gym. We were the only ones there a... more

“Clean, safe, and free”

Reviewed May 18, 2018

You park at the edge of mall parking lot with no utilities. Just need to register with mall security. Nice hiking trails along river with lots of clean cut runners. Nice park on other side of river. Nice, quiet, safe boondocking opportunity with no charge. 48 hour maximum stay.

We have used this location twice for a 2 night stay and have had no issues. We were directed to stay in the Southwest portion of the mall parking lot but the Crossfit Gym. There are plenty of open level spaces to choose from. Both times we stayed there were a few fellow RV'ers there as well. I did read issues about theft here h... more

“Good for RVs, but not for van campers.”

Reviewed Feb 16, 2018

Overall Rating

This is probably a great place for people who have RVs. Whether you have a bumper pull or it's all one drivable unit. If you are dry camping in a converted element, van, conversion van, VW van... Then this is not a place that is friendly. Checked in with the security guard and was promptly turned away. Must have a self-contained bathro... more

Reviewed Nov 11, 2017

Overall Rating

Have had this place on our radar since we were in the area for the Eclipse. Lots of room. Pick for levelness or view of the river. Checked-in with Security and they were right over to give permit. Lots of restaurant choices nearby. Also bus stop nearby if you don’t have a Toad like us.

Valley River Center is a shopping center, park at the rear of the complex talk to security, they will sign you in and instruct you where to park. The lot is well lit the security patrols the area, the only down side was train whistles.

“Bike stolen here”

I would agree with all the positive reviews here but add that my bike was stolen here. I had it locked on my Jeep hitch rack but they cut the Krypotonite cable and removed from the frame adapter.
