The lot is at a slant and we didn't unhook so we just dealt with not being level for one night. No water or hookups of any kind. Cell service was poor, but that was true in the entire city of Alpine.
We took the shuttle to the casino and it turns out that was the employee shuttle. They were so nice and gave us tips on where to eat and how to save money. We learned that, because Steve is a veteran, we were eligible for the Hero's Card, which was worth 30% off at all restaurants and bars and $5 worth of free games play. The food is all at a good price, especially with 30% off. There was a cover band playing the the lobby bar and that was free.
We would definitely stay here again.

Yes it’s just a fairly level parking lot, but the view is spectacular! We enjoyed a quiet night with 5 other rigs. Security was present frequently and the shuttle made regular rounds. Unfortunately I had a badly sprained ankle and couldn’t enjoy the casino. We will be back!
Side note: groceries at Albertsons we’re reasonable. Parking was possible even in a 40’ class A. Also available in that parking lot are McDonalds, Starbucks, and Wells Fargo.

For parking lot camping, Viejas Casino is a pretty good place! I chose a far parking lot, then went to check in at the security office. RVs are supposed to be in lot #11, but they let me stay where I was since it was a weeknight and lot #8 wasn't very full. I felt very safe at night, as the lot was well-lighted and security drove by fairly often. In the morning I woke to crisp, cool air (in mid-June!) and the sound of birds twittering in the trees that rimmed the parking lot. At one end, a beautiful green hill rose behind the trees. Shuttle buses made getting to the casino and shops easy, and all of the staff were friendly. And if you need more than birdsong to wake up fully, there is the "Roast" coffee house inside the casino--I can personally recommend the hot chocolate. There is also a small food court, and bowling alley, skate rink, and a fun zone full of video games, not to mention the sizeable outlet mall. I got my exercise before leaving (you are only allowed to camp for 24 hours) by walking all around the complex, but I may stay and play next time.

We set up shop here after a nice day in Del Mar. It is a bit of a drive but we couldn’t find an empty spot in town so we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed. It is Memorial Day weekend and I expected it to be hard to find a spot but the lot was nearly empty. The mountain surroundings are cool and quiet. The casino was crazy busy last night but it didn’t bother us at all out here. I almost cried when I found out the buffet was $50 per person. I was starving from a day at the beach but we settled for The Cafe which is reasonably priced but the food was nothing to write home about.

It's hot up here in the mountains and feels weird. There is only 1 other RVer here right now.

Stayed here for 7 nights during the first week of March 2018. No security bothered us, though security could be seen patrolling the lot several times a day. There were other RVs here that had arrived before us, and were still here when we left, so I'm not sure what the policy is on length of stay. I think as long as you don't put out patio furniture, BBQ grill, awning, and just make it look like you are parked instead of camped, you are fine. The lot is not level, it slopes down to the northwest, but is manageable. We unhooked the trailer and often drove into El Cajon and San Diego. It seems pretty safe here. There are trash cans throughout the lot and staff comes by every few days to empty. Shuttle comes by every 15-30 minutes to take you into the casino. Everyone was running their generators, so its not an issue. There is a helicopter pad next to the lot, so it can get noisy then. Just be sure to sign up for a players club card and hit the slots, just in case security checks on you. Verizon coverage is strong here.

It was a pretty area in the mountains with decent views, cell service was good. There are some hikes within a few miles of here, and the Alpine Brewing Co was a fun spot to hang out and get a few beers.

The RV parking area is very large and the few RVs are very spread out. The biggest problem is the lot of not level at all. We drove to every area in the lot and they all slope. We ended up with our back tires in a crack to Get them a little lower and help us get level. The lot was very quiet except when the helicopter flew out one time.
We streamed video to watch and live to FB without issues on Verizon. It was 19 down and 11 up before we left. AT&T was 43 down and 8.6 up.
We needed an extra couple of days to accomplish everything. As directed when we signed in, we called the number given and had no problem. We did donate a little money to the tables. ;)

There is a strict 72 hour rule for any RV’er. We received 6 amps of solar which was perfect for what we needed. There isn’t a generator rule but everyone was very courteous about the noise. We had great cell service. About 5 minutes away is an open field (Wright’s Field) where we walked the dogs which was exactly what they needed for exercise!
Definitely recommend for a place to explore San Diego!
