Passing my site where many class A motorhomes with towed vehicles so there must be several pullthru sites further as mine was. There is some traffic on the road but not bad. Great place to stay if you are visiting the Grand Canyon. Lots of elk in the area, and you can hear them at night, which was cool. I would definitely stay here as it was a great experience. It's very safe for a solo traveler too.
Cell service was really bad and I had to READ books.

Fr 302. 10min from the South entrance. Come prepare with groceries or expect to pay high prices in the town of Tusayan. Get water or dump at Mathers Campground. Free with your National Park pass.

Our first time boondocking on BLM land. Very surprising and awesome way to camp in between our travels. This is only about 5 miles to the Grand canyon South Entrance. Careful with big Rigs. Some tight squeeze's. We're in a 40 foot Motorhome with Toad.

This place is awesome! Very close to the Grand Canyon. Road in is easy to navigate, lots of big spaces not close to neighboring sites. Will stay here again.

We went about a mile in to a spot where we could get Starlink. It is a large open area and there were already some rigs and a couple construction vehicles (storage?) Anyway we decide to go ahead and use the spot. There was plenty of room. The group was quiet and the construction vehicles never moved. We wanted easy access to the park so decided not to go further in. There are lots of spots for all sizes of rigs…only a few that you can get clear view of north sky. E-biked all of the rim of the Canyon and it was great!

The site itself is awesome, lots of room just be very careful of the road. It's fine but the shadows hide pot holes that are easily straddled. We even left our rig overnight to hike to the bottom of the canyon and it was fine when we returned.
ALSO!! the Mather Campground in the park will allow you to dump and fill with potable water FOR FREE!! We were headed through the park to Monument Valley and were thrilled they let people traveling through dump and fill. The campground dump station was easy for us to maneuver as well.
Have fun!!

I arrived the last week or so of April for my Grand Canyon visit. A lot of the fire roads were still closed because of the wet winter, so I checked with the ranger station for recommendation.
As others have said, it is very close to the S Rim of the GC. Most folks were camping in the area closest to the main road. I went in about 3 miles to where they had been doing maintenence with selective cutting. The area that I found was incredible. The area was dry with open areas so that I could park to take full advantage of my solar. Huge fire pit. Never saw another rig go by; only some local traffic as this connects with other roads the further in you go. The first morning about twelve mule deer meandered by while I was having my coffee. My dogs were still snoring and didn't even notice. An incredible and beautiful place to stay!

I have a 35’ tow hauler, and was able to find a spot, but their were bumps, grooves, and mud holes.
Getting back away from 64, and it gets quiet.
I will stay there again! Not many people are even aware of it. Everyone wants to stay in the park and to have hook-ups. I was there Easter weekend, and it was never over full.
Lots of trees to hang a hammock, and clear space to get sun for solar.
Safe travel!

By sundown everyone settled into a spot and it was a quiet night. Lots of ruts off the main road made things a little difficult getting into position. All in all a good boondock spot. There was a tree down across the road about a mile in.
