The traffic noise settled down as evening drew closer, but the biggest issue I faced was the garbage. There was plastic and glass all over the place. Two separate times I had to collect trash so my dog wouldn't get hurt. One of the campers left, and I wandered over to his site to see if it was any better than mine. There was an old tarp strung on the trees, some clothing, and folding chairs. My guess is these items were abandoned long ago. The fire pit was FILLED with soda cans and bottles. It was disgusting, so I chose to stay put in my site.
The river is beautiful, and there was plenty of shade. I'm sorry that people are too inconsiderate to pack out what they bring in. I had come to this spot hoping for some peace and quiet, but the garbage and traffic noise made it difficult to enjoy the experience. I ended up leaving early.

Need off road rig if you go to the left side campsite. It was quiet and peaceful. Just be prepared to back out of the site. We have a 23 ft trailer that is off road capacity. We pull forward to the site so the door will face the river and then back out when we left.

To get to this spot is a drive. You come for relaxation as the closest town has a walmart. When you get to the road you will definitely need to get out and scout. I would suggest no rig over 31' attempt any part of this. If the spot on the left is open it's the best as it's private. No other rigs and no one will day park next to you but you need to maneuver in backwards to the spot. Now, the spots to the right are pretty fantastic, but it will be tricky getting into if you are town or are a larger rig. We barely made it to the first spot Scrapes and a couple dents and bottoming out and we were there. If there are no one in the spots there is plenty of space to turn around. Now, getting out was a different story. We had to back up to the previous spot and get out because the turn was to tight. We dented the back of our rig, the spare tire got knocked off the hinge and we added more cuts and scrapes to our rig. At one point the nose of the truck was pointed down 45 degrees and so it hit the bed of our truck. More cuts and dents added. Now that we are out of the spot it was definitely worth it but after that we swore to not put ourselves in that position for a perfect boondocking spot.
However, it was beautiful. The dogs loved running around carefree, we chatted with tubers, watched the Osprey, skipped rocks and fished a little. We had 25 yards of private rock beach. It is a short drive to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alene, a 70 mile paved bike path. Awesome awesome awesome. The spots were good because you could choose shade or sun. There are some man made fire pits and of course, there are the people that do not respect being able to use this land for free. There was quite a bit of garbage that we had to pick up.
The last potentially difficult part of this spot is if you drive past the road there isn't a place close to turn around if you are over 30'. And if there was any sort of wind the night before trees might be down and then that one section before the bridge is out.
Yes, this definitely is a love hate review. :)

This is the perfect spot to spend a weekend if you can pull it off. The road down to the spot is very tight so you might be careful if you have a bigger rig. The spot is very spacious with access to the river, as in, you are right on the river! We had a fellow camper come by and he was telling us you can hear the moose stomp through the river at night. We didn't get to witness this but if you do, that is awesome!
We checked our Verizon signal before backing into the camp spot and it showed we have two bars un-boosted. We knew we would be able to boost it no problem. But there was a problem. Pages wouldn't load and a speed test returned very lack luster speeds. However, late at night and very early in the morning was best for internet use. If you are working then I wouldn't recommend you spend a weekday here, but maybe in non-summer months the speed will be faster!
All in all, this was an amazing spot and definitely one of our favorite boondocking experiences. You can jump right in the river and float down if you fancy such an experience!
There are a few spots on the road that you can boondock so just be on the look out if this spot is full!

I'll start by answering a question most may have about this badass little spot, it was very tight getting my 12' trailer backed in here and getting it level. I'll start by answering a question most may have about this badass little spot, it was very tight getting my 12' trailer backed in here and getting it level. But 100 yards up from this spot is one that isn't riverside but wide enough and had the clearance for a larger rig. Now for the good stuff, the fishing in this spot is ideal, great cutthroat trout! Because it's a dead end and a 75 yard driveway, you are camping without neighbors. Except for the floods of river raft floaters throughout the day, and it was nice chatting with everyone. I mean, who doesn't have fun floating the Cda River with friends!?! So I went and got a raft and floated with my dog, down 2.5 miles to the snake pit that has delicious burgers, bbq, and homemade pie. There is forest service road 806 right across the street from this site that goes to the top of a hill, so expect a few dirt bikes and four wheelers. At night is when all the quiet time is and this site is far away from the private, populated camping areas
