I spent the night by the side of the access road; one other vehicle came in (and turned and left when they got to the water over the road). it was dark, and very quiet; I expect that if I'd been able to get to the campground, it would have been the same.

Nice level sites, concrete pad and covered dining area with table. Fire pit and grills at each site. A few miles drive in on a bit of a rough road . But it was worth it. No water or bathroom other than porta-potties

Nice out of the way free CG right off of 81. A couple miles of the highway via a bumpy road. We were in site 1 which was more than big enough for our 26’ 5er. This would be an absolutely awesome spot if our neighbor across the way didn’t run his 5500 watt loud generator 24/7. Sitting outside my husband and I couldn’t even carry on a conversation. I understand if you need to use a generator off and on but 24/7. Another camper said there is an elderly man that is on oxygen that stays there. We only saw a middle age man there during our 3 day stay. Either way why take a spot right in the middle of the CG to disrupt everyone. We called and moved our site over into the tent area and you could still hear the generator running. No authority around to ask why he is able to disrupt the whole CG. Again beautiful spot but with a generator being run 24/7 by a neighbor just ruins the whole camping experience.

Very nice area with large sites. Some are a bit close together. Site 1 was great for us. A covered patio provided shade. Would go again

It is a little strange in that you must make a reservation for a free site which results in alot of sites being reserved, but not used as there is no incentive to cancel your reservation if your plans change. Very limited hiking opportunities from the campground as it is surrounded by private property. Lots of hunters were out and about and using the boat ramp. At night it was nice and quiet with decent solar production in site number 2. This site is next to the playground which could be a problem, but wasn't used during our stay. Site number 2 also worked well for Starlink, and I don't think any of the other sites would have worked. No water here.

Well maintained porta pottys but they are still porta pottys, trash cans located throughout the campground, boat launch, playground, and there was a basketball hoop in the second camping area (sites 9 - 16).

The road coming in wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. We have a 31 foot class C and a tow. You have to reserve your spot. We decided to do this beforehand so we had a guaranteed site. There is a small playground for the kiddos and a nice picnic area. Lots of locals come and use this area during the day. Overall, we will look to stay here again in the future if possible!

So just happened the only other person was next to me and they ran a loud generator. Two bars Verizon. Would definitely stay again.

There was some hunting occurring in the area. A very nice access point to one of the Florida trailheads is available at the start of the roadway. Had enough service (Verizon) to take care of any essential items.
About a 15 min drive north I recommend the Morrison Springs County Park for swimming/SCUBA, and they have some outdoor showers for a quick rinse.
Greatly looking forward to coming back here in the future!
