Beautiful spot next to lake. Lots of nice spots (just don’t park on grass). Good for any size rig & lots of easy turn around spots. The boat ramp got used a lot and a decent amount of car traffic (not sure why). Felt safe though. Good cell service (2-3 bars but good enough). Lots of trash cans, although lots of trash on the ground.

We stopped here for a quick overnight snooze. This site was so pretty and spacious. The road was very good and the site was level and secluded. There were a couple of other RVs in the adjacent sites, but we didn’t even notice them. The next morning we woke up to a beautiful lake view! We would definitely stay here again.

What a great find! First, I stopped at a small rest stop on the way to Abilene. I read about the reviews for this free overnight camping site. I was reluctant to do to the fact that there are only three spots available. I decided to head that way just to check it out. So glad I did! It’s only A couple of miles north of I 20. The roads are very good. The campsites are spread out each with a picnic table and trashcan. There’s a public restroom but it was locked. My Verizon signal was strong enough to stream TV. The park is well-maintained and very quiet. I arrived around 4 PM only to find one other camper there. A sign says to camp only in designated areas… But there are probably more campsites than the three I mentioned.

Called ahead just to double check. They let us know primitive camping only. We prefer to boondock so perfect couple days as we take our time going west. They also let us know that up the road at Johnson Park there are no designated spots to park an RV but could use one of the parking spaces. Time limit is 48 hours.

This is a nice clean place to rest your head right on the water. A few people fishing when I arrived but by 4 they had all gone. There are two back in spaces across the road with covered picnic tables. I chose to b by the water. The only negatives I can see are the ants and very few shade trees. There’s a nice cool breeze coming in off the water. Slight traffic noise that doesn’t bother me a bit.

The small lake is nice and there seemed to be plenty of space available. However, camping here with my dog, she ended up with several ticks. Just be careful!

Stayed there March 25th and26th. The road coming in has a spot with bad potholes so slow down. We have a 38’ toy hauler so plenty of room. Only has a few RV spaces and it’s dry camping. We also had our boat. It was nice and quiet too. Has a group pavilion, a few tables and a boat ramp.
