The sites are great and offer privacy, a picnic table, garbage, an overhang and a singular light. I would definitely stay here again. Park rules state that you can stay 2 nights in a row. There was a patron who had their dogs off leash. My pup isn't dog friendly so that was interesting. Just a warning for others.
The seclusion was nice and allowed me to regroup and organize without fear of onlookers. I'm a newbie Van dweller. 😉

So huge big level spots with space and trees between spots. Roof over a picnic table, lake right beside. Quiet, with only the odd car slowly going by. There are bathrooms up the way. I see garbage reported on other reviews but I see nothing but spotless today.

We pulled in around 4pm. There was a lot of trash in 1 of the sites. Lots of local traffic but no one bothered us. Beautiful sunset.

Really appreciated the constant patrols by police. Felt safe. Big rig friendly. Max 48hrs but perfect for an overnight. Close to town yet rural feel. Good Verizon coverage. Would definitely stay again.
Did I mention it’s FREE?!
Thank you city of Abilene!

Verizon 1-2 bars ATT 1-2 bars 5G. Were able to stream Netflix. Gorgeous sunrise. Would be 5 stars were it not for the ridiculous amount of garbage strewn about. Mostly fast food and condoms which tells me locals have abused the place but our site had several dog food wrappers which tells me someone with a dog camped there so SHAME ON YOU boondocker! Will definitely stay again.

We arrived before dinner. Great spot, close to I20, but we couldn’t hear the traffic. Free with vault toilets, fire pits, trash, water view, picnic table, good clearance for tall rv’s. And lots of privacy. We had to pick up some litter but we always leave a site cleaner. At dusk 1000’s of sand hill Crains came in for the night. They ... more

We didn't notice how the sites are numbered but we were in the closest one to the boat launch and as we were on our way out. Level site so we stayed hooked. Starlink was awesome but only 1 bar on Verizon.
