"Okay for a night"

This park is about 10 miles off I-40, and we were only staying one night. It was quiet in December with COVID restrictions so traffic was very light. We wouldn’t stay here during a typical season with hair raising traffic insanity. Check-in was... Read more

"Calling this a resort is a stretch ..."

Harbor side? Nope. Aesthetically pleasing? Nope. Resort? Definite Nope. This is not a resort by any stretch of the imagination. First impressions bad. After traveling through neighborhoods and wondering if you made a wrong turn, you enter into a... Read more

"Premier resort? Don't think so..."

The staff was very welcoming. They were quick to acknowledge you and offer help in any way they could. This park has quite a lot of park models, and they are clean and well kept. The paved interior roads are tight for large rigs, and the RV sites... Read more

"Convenient to Cooperstown..."

Nice sized campground out in the country with wooded and open sites. They have a lot of cabins for rent. In a normal season, I imagine things are rocking and rolling. Thanks to COVID, there were lots of empty sites when we were visited – so sad... Read more

"Close to hiking, wineries, Ithaca, Watkins Glen and Corning"

Large park with overnight sites and long term. It is very dusty with gravel interior roads. Our site was fairly new with large gravel that was soft due to rain. We left some pretty significant “dents” from the levelers. It was a long site with a... Read more

"Great place to stay while visiting family"

J & D is a large, pretty park with many seasonals. The staff is very friendly and responsive. There are lots of trees and shade. All sites and interior roads are gravel. Most sites are long and level. They don’t like anything in the grass... Read more

"Pretty campground but an uncomfortable visit for us"

Well, they say they are big rig friendly but I’m not so sure. Maybe if you stay in the lower section it would be easier. We were in the upper section and it was tight dodging boulders and tree branches. The ground was soft so we sunk a bit moving... Read more

"Close to wineries ... but can be very noisy"

First things first. This is the closest RV park to all the wineries and breweries in Afton. It’s about 15 minutes to Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway where there is an abundance of hiking options. Staff was efficient but I wouldn’t say... Read more

"Nice place for visiting Asheville"

Once you turn on Timmie Lane, the entrance is the second one. The first one is an exit. It is a bit tight getting in the entrance but doable. A staff member guides you to your site, and our guy was very friendly. The paved interior roads are... Read more

"Ok for a couple days"

As others have mentioned, coming from the south on the US 17 you need to cross busy US 17 heading north. Patience grasshopper. Lots of speed humps – lots. I get the need to squash the speed demons but this is overkill. Interior roads are paved but... Read more
