Montgomery South RV Park

To get to this campground from I-65, there is a sharp-ish turn onto Venable. Road. The entrance to the campground is a bit tight as part of it is blocked off with a cone. The interior roads are also challenging with more cones and other obstacles. Do-able but could be nerve wracking for more timid drivers. A very nice lady checked us in. She was cordial and quick and led us to our site. Someone also greeted you on your way out to see if everything was ok which is a nice touch. The site was plenty long enough for our 45 ft MH and toad. It was also pretty darn level, so we were able to use our air levelers. Sites are close together with just a strip of grass separating them. There are a fair number of long-term renters. Lots of hot spots – 10 of them - but none worked for us. Luckily, T-Mobile was 5G 4 bars and Verizon was 4G 4 bars, so we used our own hot spots. Satellite would not be a problem. For us, the noise was pretty awful. You have a great view of the traffic, and all that associated racket. In addition, you are treated to trains, planes, and either guns or fireworks (not sure which). Pretty pricey considering the hubbub of noise and lack of Wi-Fi. We’ll keep looking if in the area again.

We are on the way to Florida, and booked stays along 5-hour legs all the way down. Booked here due to location, price and ratings. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating. The site is gravel, fairly level. 30 and 50 amp. No cable, but many clear TV channels via antenna. Close to the interstate, but fairly quiet. “Interesting” statues around the park.

Well situated, close to I-65 and easy access from I-65. Interstate noise is noticeable but not objectionable. There are 3 truck stops at the exit, which is very convenient for our diesel pickup and 5th wheel rig. Campground is neat and clean, orderly and well kept. Office staff super friendly and efficient. The campground is situated in an agricultural area which is quite pleasant.

A weather front forced us to start our trip south a day early so we called and arranged to arrive a day early. They were accommodating with our last minute change.

My family and I stopped here overnight, on our way down to Florida. It is right off the highway, which was very nice. The sites are clean and very well maintained. Minimal highway noice. The staff are the definition of “good country folk”. They were very polite and friendly! There is a drive through safari 5 minutes down the road, which was a nice experience if you have little ones. We would definitely stop here again!
