This was very nice, quiet, and spacious campground in the desert. Electric and water hookups with a dump station. Bathroom and shower were clean and spacious with warm water in the showers. I would stay here again!

Stayed in the East Loop #48 overnight stay and were pleasantly surprised at how much space is between each campsite and how quiet the campsite is. 2 separate loops with sites that are paved & fairly level, have a small tree, a grill and a picnic bench. Full hook-up for RV's. Tent sites are outlined with wooden beams, so make sure your tent will fit within. Easy to access RV dump site & trash dumpsters. 4 showers in the bathroom building: large shower area with great water pressure but the tile work could use some repair/maintenance.
Traffic noise from the highway was minimal - a dull hum. Railroad noise was infrequent and not at all bothersome. There are coyote in the area, supposedly, so don't leave food outside.
It's a bit of a walk to the Hopi village but there is a parking lot there for those who want to drive. This is separate from the Visitor's Center, which is down a different road. Lots of sand, desert grasses/shrubs for miles.
Advice: reserve your site on-line to be sure to get a spot. Park closes at 5 (or slightly before, as we found out) but the road to the campsite stays open.

This is a wonderful state park. The rv sites have plenty of space between them. There’s room for parking a second vehicle. The restrooms are basic and functional.

It is getting harder and harder to get a reservation here. But we lucked out getting site #16 for 2 nights. Half the sites are electric and water, and the other half no hook-ups at all. Beautiful sunsets looking west to the San Francisco Peaks. We saw and heard wild burros off in the distance.
The lights of little Winslow are about 2 miles away. We enjoyed the historic La Posada restaurant for lunch one day and the Petrified Forest Nat'l Park another day.

The sites are far apart. Water and Electric at sites. Nice little hikes around the park. Winslow is a few minutes away. Go stand on the corner. Great food at the La Posada Hotel. Amazing hotel to look around.

I’m here to let everyone know that you gotta make a reservation by 5 PM online or at the visitor center or no dice! Tried to roll in at 745 PM and couldn’t make same day online reservation. No way to pay and signs posted reservation only. Bummer! Looked nice (from what I could see in the dark lol). Don’t make my mistake!

At $25 this id 1/3 to 1/2 the price of sites in Holbrook to the east. About an hour to the Petrified Forest.

Excellent Arizona State Park, located approx 2 miles off I-40 just East of Winslow, AZ. Super easy access, and big rig friendly. All sites are level or very near level, asphalt pads and patios w/ grills and picnic tables; some also have fire rings, but not all. Drinking water is shut off to sites for Winter, but available at the dump station. Water is clean and tastes good. Be sure to check site amenities when reserving, not all are electric, and some are 30amp only; there are a few 50amp sites. Electric was clean and stable. Bathrooms are dated, but clean. Only two shower stalls, but they are large and private/lockable rooms. There were two sites marked as camp host with RV’s setups, but we never saw the people during our week-long stay.

As you can see I made the reservation on Memorial Day weekend. We were so busy I didn’t review the confirmation email until the next week. The agent mistakingly made the reservation for May 27, 2018.
When I called to point this out, ( after the 27th passed), I was informed they wouldn’t make that type of mistake and it was my fault. Funny!!! When they made the reservation they put the wrong name on the reservation. Not even close to my name. They excused themselves for that mistake but not for the one that cost me $35.00.
As I said before BE VERY VERY CAREFUL MAKING RESERVATIONS!!!
