“Great camping near National Monument”

Reviewed Sep 14, 2018

Overall Rating

Nice campground close to the Tower. We had no trouble leveling and there were plenty of spots to choose from July 4th weekend. The entrance to the park was packed so I was scared, but there were tons of open spots for camping. $20/night with no hookups but you have such easy access to the Tower it is worth the cost. “Great Views, Extremely Close to Tower”

Good campsite close to tower. Definitely nothing special about the site. Had 4G, but it was still incredibly slow. Although the sites were mediocre, it’s the best option near the monument.

“About as close as you can get to the Tower”

Small, well maintained campground (two loops) inside of Devil’s Tower NP. If you have a senior parks pass, you can’t beat the $10 rate ($20 otherwise). Not a lot of privacy but good size sites (unlike the KOA where you are stacked up like dominos). Some have a little shade but not all of them. No hookups but (clean) flush toilets and r... more

“Perfect for a visit to Devil's Tower”

Reviewed Jul 03, 2018

Overall Rating

A great spot with trails leading directly to the tower. You can hike from camp up and around the tower in under 4 miles if you take the long route on the red banks trail. And I would because the views from all around the camp and the area are worth the hike. Good bathrooms and all is well maintained by the NPS.

“Can't get closer to the iconic tower!”

Reviewed Jun 10, 2018

This campground is ideal for a visit to Devils Tower. Sites are gravel, pull-through, and available on a first come, first serve basis. Drive around until you find a site, set up, then self-register at the front. We had no trouble getting a great site on a Friday in mid-June, but we arrived early (11:30). The campground seemed relative... more

“Close to Devil's Tower”

Reviewed Jun 07, 2018

$20 without senior pass. We saw white tail deer, snakes (rattle, gopher, and ?), prairie dogs... Good size sites but no privacy. No hookups... Pleasant host and lots of "ranger" programs. June is voluntary climb ban in respect for the Native Americans who are celebrating the solstice. (Still a few climbers) all the trails are open.

“Comfortable sites”

Reviewed Jun 05, 2018

This NPS campground is well laid out. Flush toilet and trash collection but no other services. Views of the tower are plentiful. The prairie dog town is right next door as is the Belle Fourche River. This first come first served system means that later in the season will require an early arrival to secure a site. The $20 fee i... more

“Great access to Devil's Tower, but a little pricey”

Reviewed May 29, 2018

I don't have too much to add on other people's reviews. Arrived on a Friday in mid May and only 1/2 campground was open, but there were still plenty of spots if you arrived mid-day. We have the annual pass to the parks, but it is still $20/night. Little spendy for no hookups, but I suppose it's in line with most National Park camp... more

We decided last minute to stay here on our way to Glacier. We hit Mt. Rushmore in the morning and then headed to Devils Tower. This place is amazing! The trail around the tower is a must.
