Probably from bay which makes shellfishing on beach at camp iffy. Otherwise, pleasant with fresh appearance architecturally. Coos Bay, N. Bend blighted. Few, if any restaurants beyond fast food. A couple pubs. Some good hikes. Ocean mainly small bays. This is an upscale park in a sad area.

“Very Nice Park And Amenities ”

When pulling into this park the surroundings are iffy but once you turn into the park all of that goes away. This resort is top notch! Sites are spacious, and views are awesome. The only issue was the laundry facilities the front loaded machines smelled of mildew and were dirty inside the lip of the machines. We would definitely go back!

This was our first time in this park, located on Coos Bay (the Bay, not oceanfront); we've already made reservations for a return visit. One of the nicest parks we've stayed in in our six years of traveling the West! It's very large, with not only modern park models but an Airstream rental park as well. The many sites are very large (both back-in and pull-through), immaculately clean, with new hookup pedestals. Each site is marked with a lighted metal post. There a four modern, connected hospitality buildings housing reception/store, a heated indoor saltwater pool, both kids’ and adults’ lounges, and a workout room. There are multiple bathroom/shower outbuildings, all immaculate. Staff are friendly and helpful, with helpful local sights/services handouts available. The park makes a nice base for exploring the Coast to the South, which terminates in Cape Arago State Park, with views of many seascapes, each populated by vociferous sea lions! Have fun here; it's a delightful surprise! M&J, Bend, Oregon

Backing in from passenger site is an interesting design choice. Always a bit more challenging. Especially as a newbie and solo traveler; like I am. But took less than 3 tries to park the trailer, since there is so much room between sites and on the road.
I would stay here when in Coos Bay again.

Well planned out RV resort with good sized spaces and amenities. Great for dogs as the beach is right there and can let them off leash while on beach. Dog bags throughout, although no fenced dog run unfortunately. Clean and well maintained facilities. Food truck there on weekends.

We loved this park more because it was so great for our dog than for all the other things folks have listed. It’s pretty awesome to text for firewood and it shows up at your site - same for a nice bottle of wine. Of course those things cost money and we don’t do that often but sometimes it’s very much appreciated. It’s a large site, we arrived mid week and it was maybe half full if that and super quiet. By Labor Day weekend it was full as one would expect but still mostly pretty quiet. WiFi looked promising but with the park full wasn’t too useful; we used our cell phones but the cell data rates weren’t a lot better. We camped in the bay front spaces which are the most expensive but there’s not a bad view to be had. Being at the edge of the beach was a bonus for our dog as she loved playing in the water off leash and walking way out onto the sand at low tide. Clams are available and saw folks digging them up at the lowest tides. The park itself is an old mill site and pretty open and a bit stark in that regard.

Well, they have a phone but the question is why. They never answer and don’t return messages left on voicemail. We finally discovered that they actually will respond to texts. What is up with that? There is a large check-in area for several RVs; however, there is no sign indicating where the office is. Again, what is up with that? We called a couple days before our arrival to see if we could check-in early as we only had an hour drive. Answer was a definite maybe. We arrived at 12:20 and were told that check-in was 1. So we asked if our site was ready, and the immediate answer was no. We could go hang out in the RV or check out the park, and they would text us. So we went back to our RVs and had lunch. 1:00 came and went and no text. Back to the office we go. Oh sorry, we forgot. We think they are just stickler for the 1:00 check-in as we watched what they did when someone left a site. They checked that the electric was off and removed any leftover firewood – took all of two minutes. Good grief. There is no landscaping per se – just dried up grass with weedy flowers when we were there. The entrance and check-in area are paved, and the interior roads and sites gravel. Unfortunately, this led to dusty vehicles as people routinely drove much faster than 5 mph (not enforced). The sites are narrow with decent spacing but no privacy. Our site was mostly level and long enough for our 45er and toad. For me, the waterfront sites are not worth the price. Same gravel sites and dried up grass with a better view although some are blocked by trees. We had a nice view of the bay out our driver’s side windows even though we were in the 2nd to last spot on a row. Generally foggy in the morning with clearing usually by 11. It can get pretty darn stinky at low tide. It’s a busy place with people coming and going but it’s fairly quiet at night. WII FI works decently, and satellite would not be a problem. They have cable but we didn’t try it. Verizon was 4g 2-3 bars and could be sketchy. They also rent cabins and airstreams – at a pretty hefty price. The state parks nearby have several pretty and accessible beach areas as well as an easy, yet amazing, hiking trail along the ocean. Tons of seals barking and lounging around on Simpson reef. We even spotted a whale! Plenty of shopping in town with Walmart about 5 miles away. Be prepared for homeless camps and beggars.
