This is a vast lake bed of dried mud, with room for hundreds of RVs. Come in on Sunfair Road (which Garmin GPS misnames as Coyote Valley Road) and Sunflower Road. Sunfair is paved, and Sunflower is good, two-lane dirt most of the way, but becomes...
I camped beside the cinder cone, at 35.9847,-117.9086. It was a large, prepared camping/parking area of sand-sized cinders with some gravel added on top. The surface was very firm, flat and level. A few hikers came in and parked during the 6 days...
After leaving Death Valley, this was the furthest north I could go without overnight freezing, in order to visit Bodie. The electrical hookup sites were in the middle rows, and I would have been hemmed in between two others with no view, so I...
Sunset Campgound is centrally located, across from the Furnace Creek Ranch. It is a dusty parking lot, with sites marked by parking barriers and white paint. Reservations are not available, but I was here during the first week it was open for the...
After finding that Wheeler Pass Road was unsuitable for boondocking, I came here for three nights while waiting for forecasted cooler weather in Death Valley. There is a line of boondocking sites along the front of the property, but I was able to...
I came here to sit and wait for a few days of cooler weather in Death Valley. The space at the given coords was level gravel, and would hold 4 or 5 rigs fairly close together, but there was a homeless encampment across the street, and a...
This was a good overnight stop along I-15. The campground comprised a row of permanent resident RVs closest to I-15, then three rows of overnight RVs, and a row of mobile homes. It was clean and respectable. My site was dirt and gravel. It was...
Jordanelle was a beautiful location, and my site had a spectacular view over the lake. However, the site sloped significantly uphill, and it was impossible to level, even with the jack fully retracted. Half the sites in Lower Fisher were badly...
This review is about South Marina, which is an entirely different location from the other campgrounds in the park. South Marina is accessed from I-15 Exit 357 and a series of narrow roads, not Exit 351 which serves the other campgrounds.
Free, clean, 2-lane dump station with potable water and a dumpster. There is a reasonably-priced gas station and a diner with a huge RV/truck lot right next door.
