“Homeless encampment”

I came here to sit and wait for a few days of cooler weather in Death Valley. The space at the given coords was level gravel, and would hold 4 or 5 rigs fairly close together, but there was a homeless encampment across the street, and a dubious-looking old trailer at the coords. I saw RVs to the north of East Basin Ave, half a mile to the north (look on Google maps), so I moved up there, and found pull-through sites graded on each side of a good dirt road. There were many RVs there, and it was rather cramped, but I decided to stay the night. The bajada sloped uphill so much that I could not get level with my jack fully retracted, so the next morning I headed into town to the Pair-A-Dice Escapee's coop park.

There were also RVs parked at each of the power poles to the north of East Basin Ave, but it was a high voltage line, so I would not have parked under it.

If you're going to camp here, come in from Hwy 160 on East Basin Ave. It's the only route in that is paved the whole way.

Big open gravel parking lot with lots spaces and places to put a rig of any size. The gravel is mighty big but you shouldn’t have any problems.

Stopped for a night here after visiting Death Valley NP. Convenient place on my way to Vegas. Quiet here with a few other RVs spread throughout the site. The view of the twinkling city lights at night is a nice bonus.
