Dirt sites, well marked with frogs at night. Most of the sites were dry camping. Some hook-ups.
Good fishing and hiking in the area. The BBQ place down the street is good. Picnic tables and fire rings.

Wouldn’t choose to vacation here but would stay as a last resort. It is inexpensive. Maybe slightly over priced considering it doesn’t have sewer and the bathrooms are horrendous. There is no privacy as sites are very close together. The bathroom situation is awful. Aside from the toilet bowls & sinks themselves, absolutely nothing else is cleaned. Lots of old grim on surfaces, doors and toilets. Toilet paper often ran out. Trash cans over flowing. Trash on floors, soap on floors. Looks like only the seat and bowl of toilets get cleaned, the rest of the toilet is really gross. Lots of full timers live there. They are quiet, friendly and respectful but have accumulated lots of unsightly clutter.
It’s right on the highway and very loud. The campground residents are quiet and it’s pretty peaceful aside from the constant highway noise. Showers are expensive $2 for 6 minutes. Never used them so I cannot speak of their quality or condition. Picnic table, fire ring and bbq in each site is real nice.

No doubt we could have found blm that would have served the same purpose for $20.00 and no more driving in the relentless winds we were happy to have this camp site here. The spots with water and electric ($25.00) are mainly small and were all but taken by a few full timers and others. Site 38 although dry, allowed us to leave our truck and trailer hooked up for an early morning departure before the heat and winds kicked in again.

After leaving Death Valley, this was the furthest north I could go without overnight freezing, in order to visit Bodie. The electrical hookup sites were in the middle rows, and I would have been hemmed in between two others with no view, so I opted for a no-hookup site along the southern side. From there, I had a view of the valley, the Sierras, and a glacier. The site was too short to park the truck in front, and really too narrow to park beside the trailer - it was a tight squeeze.
It was a nice enough campground, but there was a lot of truck noise from the highway during the day, and there was trash all along the fence (even though there was a resident camp host). In my site and the ones either side, there were plastic bags, paper towels, a newspaper insert, a fast food box, and assorted labels and string.
Verizon 4G was 2 bars, -110 dB, 6 Mbps down and 5 up.

Plenty of spots available. Pick your spot then pay. Small campground but Very quiet. Met some very nice fellow campers next to us. We are pulling a 25 ft Airstream. Plenty of room. Beautiful views!

Convenient to the highway. I just dry camped for 1 night. Ants everywhere! Nice view of the mountains east and west. Didn’t see a campground host. Shower Bldg leaves a lot to be desired. A bit of highway noise. Seems to be a few long term residents? One resident worked on his numerous vehicles making a fair amount of racket.

So one hand, there are big beautiful mountain views on each side of the park: the snowy Sierras to the west and the red and orange burned White Mountains to the east.
The campground is about 40 minutes to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, and it's a gorgeous drive all the way there. Big Pine is a cute enough little town and has the basic necessities to get you by for a night or two, and nearby Bishop's Vons grocery store is more or less a Safeway (your Safeway card will even work there).
In the opposite direction, there's a beautiful campground and trail near the Palisade Mountains and Glacier.
The campground has some permanent residents, though a sign states a 14 day maximum limit. It's owned by the same people who own Brown's Town and Brown's Millpond, or so the campground host told me.
Eight of the spots are water & electric for $20. The remainder are dry camping for $15. I would argue that, for dry camping, you could do much better and cheaper in some of the NFS or BLM lands just north in Bishop or just east on the road to the Bristlecone Pines.
Oh, and the spots range from decently medium sized to very small. We ended up in a "very small" one, but there was no one in front of us. This is a cheap enough place to get a few hookups, pay $2 for a 6 minute HOT shower, and regroup for your next adventure in all of the really awesome campgrounds in this area.
Plus, the cottonwoods here are just dripping with fallen sticks which will make easy work of any campfire. If you end up in Site 35 let me know how you like the fire pit! It's a custom made Rock-7 model that my children and I assembled from local resources, perfectly sized for maximized heat source yet minimized risk of exploding your propane tanks which will no doubt be no more than a few feet away!
