“Absolutely Beautiful!”

Reviewed Mar 21, 2017

Overall Rating

This was our first time to stay here and I was quite pleased. Our site was a pull thru and the space was lovely. Lots of shady spots to hang out in during the day. The only thing I didn't like was the position of our Airstream in conjunction with the sun. At this particular site, the street side of the Airstream never escapes the sun. ... more

If you're looking to stay in the Austin area with quick access to the city without feeling like you're in the city, this is the spot. While it's only a few miles off of a main highway, once you enter the park, you feel like you're nowhere near an urban area. Urban RV camping can be a disappointing experience. Crowded sites, parking lot aesthetics, bright lighting, and really, all of the things that can ruin a sense of home. “Beautiful state park with very large sites, fairly close to Austin.”

Reviewed Feb 17, 2017

A beautiful state park with large semi-private sites, nice trails, and close to "civilization". We stayed for two weeks (you'll have to make reservations early, as the park fills up on weekends) and enjoyed the park. Since the park entry fee is $6 per person per day, we purchased the $70 TX annual parks pass, which also included 50% of... more

Not a lot to say that hasn't already been said. This is the perfect location to stay to spend time in Austin. Sites are assigned when you arrive. Reviewed May 25, 2016

We stayed here in May of 2016 and the park is clean and beautiful. It's perfectly located near Austin and we enjoyed our stay. There were a few issues that prevented me from giving it 5 stars: 1) The park rate is $20, but each non-Texas resident who doesn't have a park pass pays an extra $6 per stay.
