Large open leveled area. Plenty of space for many rigs but we camped with no more than three on any given night. Met great neighbors here! 15 minutes to the caverns and a half hour to Guadalupe Mountains. Perfect Boondocking! Doesn’t get much better!

If you go to the next road if going south than the road is paved. Just saying.

The others have pretty much said it all. This is a flat open lot. There are no amenities. The price is right, and the location is close to the national parks. You can hear a small amount of road noise, but it's minimal. The night before we parked at the roadside rest in Texas closer to Guadalupe Mtns; NP. We had a couple a semi trucks pull next to us with their diesel engines idling. Compared to that, Chosa is a dream.

Great location for accessing the National Parks! Right off the highway, but not too much noise. Exactly what was expected - large dirt lot. There was plenty of room and we were the only ones there!
Only downfall was the harsh winds during the night that blew sand into our tent. Otherwise a great experience!

We were told about this campground by a local rancher who referred to it as "the new campground at mile marker 9". This place looks brand new as of Jan 2019. Simple - just a cleared flat lot surrounded by a pipe fence, but the location was great to Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mtns NP, you have a view of the ridge, and it is free! Stayed here 6 nights and had the place to ourselves 4/6 nights - one night we had a van camp overnight on the other side of the lot from us and the other there was a tent camper. Quiet and peaceful - there is a little interstate noise but not bad at all as it is over a little hill.
There was no sign but assume 14 day stay limit. Pack in/pack out situation, no bathroom facilities, water, dump or garbage collection. Just a simple and convenient place to park it. Easy to get to - paved road right to it and very little traffic went by. Big rig friendly - no 4x4 or high clearance required.
Internet on Verzion and ATT was good, didn't have to boost and were able to stream no problem.
