We worked it out by making our own slope. If we hadn’t needed to dump we would have skipped. Too much work!! The shower/bathroom is an all in one with no shower curtain so the floor is wet! Despite marginal conditions you can’t get much closer to the caverns which are outstanding 👍.

No shade, no fire pit, no picnic table. You are literally parked next to the laundry facilities with a road next to you. Only stay there if you have to or if you want an early start at Carlsbad Caverns. It’s a 30 second drive to the entrance to the park.

Had dogs with us. There’s a park nearby with grass to have them relieve themselves. Gravel roads. Backup spots. Conveniently near the caverns.
As far as amenities we didn’t see or experience any as we arrived late and left early for the cavern.
Spaces were a bit tight for our class A motor home rv w. Slide outs.

Forget about wi-fi. Not all pull-thru sites. That’s ok but out in a gravel parking lot next to the road. Don’t waste your money. The only good thing was location to the caverns.

We chose to stay at White’s because they are close proximity to both Guadaloupe and Carlsbad. Additionally, I need electric hook-ups and good signal to work during the week.
If you don’t need these things, then boondock in one of the numerous BLMs between the parks for free. This place is overly priced and falsely advertises its amenities.
The waterpark and arcade have been closed for long before Covid - you can tell by how decrepit the buildings are, but they still include these as amenities under your price. The “grocery store” is barely a convenient store with mostly expired and some molding food. The “restaurant” desperately needs additional employees. We tried to eat there, waited for about seven minutes, looked around the building, and couldn’t find anyone to seat us. The menu is lacking and overpriced (chips and salsa appetizer is five dollars). We went into neighboring Carlsbad for dinner.
The P sites are right off the highway, and you’ll be packed like sardines: worse than city parks. We couldn’t extend our awning the full distance without crashing into the neighbor’s slide. They’ll also place small campers (we’re 24) between two giant buses, which is terrible when considering ventilation. Most places know not to do this. The sites further back seem nicer, but you can’t access the Wifi from that distance.
This place was definitely a mistake. The website makes it seem much better than it is. Only pros are distance between parks, and good wifi (from where we are).

This park was our base to visit the Caverns. Check in was friendly and using a satellite photo we were directed back off of the main road to overflow site 01. A narrow macadam pad at the end of a row, easy enough to level, full hook ups and a nice view. Can't review the facilities, we don't use them. Repeated banging (drilling?) noises from the valley below were noticeable at night, but not too disruptive to rest. We were surprised to wake and find a rental camper van parked at our door between our fire pit and picnic table in the morning! The only thing bothersome were the overflowing dumpsters, the copious beacons of light overnight from a monthly resident's site and the unbelievable amount of dog waste (new and old) around the loop. We'd come back to see more of the caverns when the bats are flying and be happy to stay at White's again, even if we were backed in along the road.

Didn't stay, just came for water. They charged me more than anywhere I've seen so far in four states.
It might be a nice park, but try to fill your water elsewhere.

However it is a very pleasant situation and not too noisy etc. The sites are very close together, but they're flat and hard gravel. They are back-in only. They are on the side road to the park, and there's tons of room to maneuver big rigs. Check in process was very nice as the people are super-friendly. Cell service (Verizon) is awesome. Pleasant surprise was that the WiFi worked well enough for us to stream TV last night too.

I arrived without a reservation, in the dark and after office hours, and the sign directs you to the hotel across the street to check in. The gal at the counter was friendly enough, but she wasn't well trained on booking the RV sites. After getting my site booked, she showed me a crude map but admitted she want really sure where the site was.
The sites are not well marked, and another camper pointed me to my site. As another reviewer stated, the power lines are fairly low and cross the sites, such that I don't know if I could have raised the camper high enough to take it off the truck without hitting the lines.
The other issue I had was there is a metal canopy over picnic tables between sites on one side, and the power and water on the other side. The canopy is a great idea, but it made the clearance with the slide-out very tight.
One word of warning that's not the fault of the campground, but at night it was bug city! The bats from the caverns need only to visit the campground for an easy meal. I mention the bugs because many got into our camper, being attracted to the lights when I opened and closed the door, even if done quickly.

“Poor Quality. Unethical Management.”
noted 3/20/2023
Drove thru. Not very well kept. In need of many repairs. Stopped day prior to ask about emptying tanks - was advised it was a flat $15. Came next day - manager said it was now $20.
Spoke with someone else waiting to check in. Was after 9AM. Their site was empty. Manager would not let them check in until 11AM. Yes - been doing this all over country for many years full time. Check in times are meant as a guideline to set expectations. Many places will allow you to check in early if the site is empty - and a few upper end places simply charge an early check-in fee, the same as a late check-out fee. Manager simply refused to help - had no reason other than "that's the rule". Yes, and when the rule is not applicable, let's treat people kindly and simply pay favors forward.
