I am planning a trip in late June and am wondering if its likely that there will still be space to camp if I get there late evening, like 8?

Well, we were there the first week of April and it was full by 5 and saw people driving thru looking for spots. There was a parking lot kind of place just outside the entrance that one rv and a couple of renters used.

When we were there a couple of years ago, there was plenty of room. It is just a big open space so you can squeeze in wherever there is a spot.

Yes. This is the time of the year I was there and there was PLENTY of room. There are no defined sites, so my guess is that if more people arrive, there is less space per camper....but there was plenty of space and maybe 6 campers in the whole lot when I was there.

Would not think it should be a problem at least being able to get parked for the night. If you're staying more than one night and it's not the ideal spot people will probably be leaving the next day and you can readjust.

My guess would be that you would be fine arriving then since it is really a very large parking lot.

Chosa is one large gravel/dirt square. You should have no problem finding a place to park and camp. In the crazy event that it was somehow packed, you could go down the road a little ways and pull off. Also, I think there is another BLM free campsite somewhere in that area. I have stayed at Chose for four nights. If all else fails, there is an RV park in White's City.

There usually was. It's a wide open area of several acres. Friday

Based on my experience I would say it is fine. There was plenty of room for more. Plus just down the street there were a few more sites with fire pits. Enjoy
