"Top of the hill with incredible 360 degree views"

This is a true boondocking spot with no facilities. There is room for maybe 5 medium sized campers, and there are a few person-made rock fire rings. We had originally picked Nolan Tank but found that area to be filled with campers already, and... Read more

"Great forest boondocking. Close to Grand Canyon"

There are plenty of places to set up for Boondocking here. We miss this place a lot! No facilities so bring water and pack out your garbage. The pine trees are tall and spread out, so you've got a great view from anywhere you decide to stay.... Read more

"Clean, sunny, safe, and near nice hikes."

Sites are concrete pads, and campground is organized to give decent privacy between sites. Bathrooms appear to be brand new! Three of the bathrooms have solar showers and the temp was good :-) We noticed only a handful of sites with shade... Read more

"Very nice park. Free camping with hookups. Must reserve in advance."

We went to the website and filled out a reservation request. When we didn't hear back by the near end of the business day, we called. The message was to leave a name and number and we'd get a call back, and as an option go to our site to complete... Read more

"5 stars for what it is."

This spot gets 5 stars with us because our expectation was more than met. It is a safe place to stay for free, it had a dumpster for trash, and a toilet (nf). Exactly as advertised. There was even hand sanitizer in the bathroom :-) There were... Read more

"Pretty Campground. Well maintained and great showers!"

We picked this campground to be closer to a friend who we planned to visit in Scottsdale, otherwise we would have been higher in the mountains. It saved us 12 miles of twisting & turning steep roads. This campground was nicely laid out, with... Read more

"Fun site!"

This was our first stop in Arizona, coming west from NM. We loved the drive and seeing the saguaro cactus's and wild flowers along the way. Our site was fairly private and close to the restrooms. We only stayed one night so didn't take... Read more

"Unique campground worth a visit"

We stayed here one night. This was a very interesting place to camp. There were two areas to camp, one was with full hookups (electric, water and sewer), the others were disbursed with no hookups. The FHU sites were packed neatly into two rows,... Read more

"Perfect campsite near Gila Cliff Dwellings"

Been living full time in our camper for the past 20 weeks, and this is our favorite camping spot (so far)!! We had planned to visit Gila Cliff Dwellings and picked Gila Hot Springs Campground as our base, based on reviews and the notion of... Read more

"Don't change your mind based on this review"

Overall good experience but we nicknamed this “the broken campground”. There are three streets, or rows, that run horizontally along one side of a hill, all looking out at a mountain on the other side of gulch. Felt sort of like stadium seating... Read more
