“Great short stop”

Nice walk into town or around the marina, lots of space to park even if no "spots" are available. Good cell signals, friendly people.

“It's a parking lot.”

Reviewed Sep 11, 2014

Overall Rating

It is literally a parking lot — with a designate RV dry camping area around the perimeter. On the left side as you enter are several numbered slots separated by logs. There is also an unmarked area on the far side of the lot, nearer to the restrooms/laundry where RVs may also camp. The only two sites where you'll actually have a decent view are the forwardmost sites on each side.

To enter, keep going North up Market St.; don't enter the main entrance near the Harbor Master's office.

I chose this campground because it was on the water, and a close walk to town. However, it's not really waterfront camping, and downtown Anacortes isn't much to see. There is, however, a good farmers market on Saturdays (and Wednesdays in summer) directly accross the street.

Excellent, very fast Wi-Fi, but your chance of getting a signal will depend on where you park. I was parked halfway back on the main numbered sites and gad a great signal until a larger RV parked in front of me and completely blocked it.

It is not near the San Juan Ferry — that's on the other side of town. Washington County Park, which is $5/n more for full hookups is right next door to the ferry.

A harbor employee told me that they have plans to turn this area into a full-fledged RV park, but it'll be a while. But keep your eye out…
