It looks solid - would it accommodate a 40' diesel pusher or is that asking too much?

This place is a gem along the rocky river banks of the HoH River. An absolutely gorgeous location on the river front of privately owned land. It's location is ideal for RVs of almost any size and even tent campers can carve out a place to set up, hang out and enjoy the serenity, beauty and waters of the river.
We found this one on Campendium after striking out at three other area campgrounds - late summer, every place was full/reserved. Our plan of exploring Olympic National Park for a couple days quite enjoyably turned into 8 days, with Allens Bar as our home base.
Everyone we met during our visit were warm, friendly and respectful of the riverfront. We had no issues at all, made some new friends (while social distancing) and learned a bit about the area from them. Keep an eye on the weather, as moderate to heavy rains can increase the river's rate of flow, scope and depth. The week before we arrived, people had to pull their rigs out of rising waters.
Cell service was good with Verizon and Nomad internet via AT&T mobile. We were able to work online and stream movies easily. When outside, the views of nearby ridge lines peaking out above the tall evergreens was breathtaking. We walked along the riverbanks most days, and even took a dip or two to cool off when the mid-day temps broke 80 degrees.
Hiking trails, Ruby Beach, La Push beach and the HoH Rainforrest are moments away. Fresh water and sewer dumping is close by at Bogachiel State Park, right on Hwy 101.
Allens Bar on the HoH River is a special place and ranks high on our Top 10 list of dispersed campsites across the US. #WanderousDuo @WanderousDuo

It was busy but everyone was super friendly and we got waterfront spot easily. Access was also easy. Some dog poop which was sad. River was cold but fun to plunge in. Really pretty and good for experiencing this part of the Olympic peninsula.

Wow! It's hard to sum up how amazing this place was. There is a very kind gentleman named Allen who allows camping along the river of his property for a very small fee of $5 per day per vehicle. All you have to do is write down your vehicle make, dates you are staying, and pay cash. You can then drive down to the river and pick out a spot! There aren't any designated spots, but don't block people in.
This is dry camping with the nearest water at Bogachiel State Park. We stayed for about a week and didn't have any trouble finding a spot. It wasn't super busy, but there were a few cars coming and going each day. It was quiet and all we could hear was the rush of the river at night. You could see almost every star in the sky at night.
There was no issue getting our 42' 5th wheel down here. There were several class A's and buses too. It's rocky, so you will have to drive slow. Don't get too close to the water as it gets softer. We posted up next to a fire pit and got some wood from a place up the road (towards Forks) that accepted Venmo.
We went up to Minnie Petersen campground and put our kayaks in to float the river. It took a couple hours to float down to camp, but you will need to pay attention as there are some decent rapids and logs to navigate through. If you are less experienced and want an easy float, then you can put in at Hoh Oxbow campground and take a 20 minute float. The hardest rapid was just before the Hoh Oxbow campground.
We will definitely be back as this is a prime location to get to the beaches and hiking around the park. Please, please, please pick up after yourselves and pay the fee! Don't ruin this for everyone as Allen is an amazing person for doing this!

Be careful where you walk! Also, there’s no reason to crowd other campers. I’m not sure why everyone turns left when they get to the riverbank, congregating on top of one another, when there's more than ample room for rigs of all sizes to the other end as well.

Most folks here are families or older groups so it's quite and chill. Just some kids playing in the river during the day.
An idyllic spot!

Our amazing campsite for the second night in a row. The soothing sounds of the glacial Hoh River drift us to sleep easily. It’s super refreshing after a day of hiking! 🧼 The water drops off STEEP along the far side bank
It’ll cost you $5/night. Put in a drop box, honor system.

Stayed for five days here and used it as a base camp to explore the Western side of the Olympic Peninsula. The cost is $5 a night with no apparent limit on the stay. It's private land, much of which runs right along the Hoh River. We enjoyed a site at rivers edge the whole week, and it was really nice!
When you first enter off 101 there's a box with envelopes to pay. Then you just proceed all the way down the road, which cuts to the right and opens up at the river. The first part of the location is large, and at least a few large rigs can fit here. You can also fit a bigger rig at the rivers edge, but if you turn right you can go along the river which can fit a few more smaller rigs situated parallel to the river.
We have a 24' rig and had no issues at all, but if you're larger than this you may not fit down at the spot where we were on the river. Instead you might have to park up at the top area.
Didn't encounter many issues here, but just a heads up, we had some lady outside of our door at 4 AM crouched down looking at rocks and mumbling to herself. It freaked us the hell out. They were there the next day and the lady came down and asked "is my dog here" and her dog was literally following her. The man she was with, both of them, there was something not right with them at all. Very bad vibes. I have very thick skin, but these people made me uncomfortable and it takes a lot to do that!
I wouldn't let that deter you from staying here, but it happened to us, so I figured I'd say something so others are aware.
Things to do:
⭐️ visit Abbey Island (located near Ruby Beach) at low tide. DO THIS!! seriously see our last post for the stunning sea life!
⭐️ see the Kalaloch Tree of Life - this tree is on the beach and still alive in the most precarious of positions.
⭐️ see the Big Cedar Tree
⭐️ visit Purple Haze Lavender Farm
⭐️ visit the Hoh Rainforest Visitor Center

When you get to the entrance, there are signs with the rules, and envelopes to pay. It is only $5 per night or free for active military. Then you take a short gravel road until you reach the water front sites, along the Hoh River. It wasn't crowded- but was quiet and peaceful. Campfires are permitted, we built a pit with rocks. Any size trailer will fit! We have Verizon and both had full bars here. We ended up staying two nights. If we are in the area in the future, we will definitely stay here again!
