"Sounds Of Air Boats Ruin Experience"

This is a beautiful park with many hiking trails, kayaking on canal, biking through park, and many large, private sites. However noise from air boats on the lake ruin the atmosphere. Sounds begin in early morning and last into the night.... Read more

"Horrible Hammock"

I heard someone refer to this park as Horrible Hammock. Now that I’m here; it’s an apt moniker. Sites are on top of each other with no privacy. Very unlevel. The bathhouses are old and only one in the whole park has ADA grab bars in toilet and... Read more

"No Potable Water"

Beware; come prepared. There is no potable water in the entire park! This is a long term condition until Park develops a reverse osmosis system. No completion date. Ranger station has free bottled water for campers at 2gal/day. Not convenient.... Read more

"Good Bike Path"

Other than the paved bike path along 30A, there’s not much to recommend this campground. Hiking trails are across busy 30A and very sandy. You can drive to beach communities with restaurants/boutique shopping.

"A Bit Of Nature Among The High Rises"

Henderson Beach is a recent addition to the State Park system and is doing a commendable job protecting and restoring the natural environment on this small parcel surrounded by high rises and attractions. It’s a respite from the chock-a-block... Read more

"Beware!"

Although sites are large and relatively private, it is expensive for what you get. Sites are very unlevel (I tried three.) Utility post is on same side as picnic table/fire pit. So you need to have cords long enough to go around your vehicle, or... Read more
