The views are unbeatable, watching the sunrise over the valley below was magical. Each site has it's own fire pit, grill, picnic table with shade. Lots of variety in terms of pull ins & tent spots . Shared composting toilets and water access before climbing up to the site. And all for $7! 100% recommend staying here.

Wonderful camp for smaller rigs and tent/car camping. Sites have covered shelters with picnic tables, grills and fire pits. There are two separate loops but one way road connecting them. If you go past either loop you must drive all the way around the the park again to get back to them. I suggest you pull in to the first loop and see if a good site available before going to 2nd loop. There is a great trail head just past first loop, "Pine tree Loop" that is moderately difficult but worth the effort if it is not to hot. Plan about 3 hours and bring lots of water and good hiking boots. Better yet, pack a lunch and stop at the primitive camp site half way thru for a rest.

Beautiful views in every direction. Trailheads for 2 hikes from the upper loop CG. Sites 33-55 in the lower loop are only good for tents and vans, and very unlevel. Unfortunately, if you drive to the lower loop and do not find a suitable site, you have to drive about 4 miles around the 1-way park loop to get back to the upper loop CG.

All in all it was a great experience. We did not have cell or internet service. We use Verizon.

We pulled our 22’ 5th wheel with no problems. The campsites are not level and more designed for tents but with some blocks and good wheel chocks you can find a good site for a trailer. Water is available at the camp host and it’s the best I have had.

But everyone’s entitled to experience public lands, so feel free to drag your massive rig up this one lane curvy mountainside road. I’ve seen only one pull-through. The rest are back in and some sites are accessible only by foot for tents. Please leave dogs who bark are everything the wind blows.

Gorgeous view of the valley looking east and rock spires behind you. There are a couple of trails to hike and if you are a rock climber this would be a great spot to setup base.
Lots of birds about, bearproof trash and clean vault toilets. I would come back.

What a great little campground! Isolated enough to be peaceful, close enough to Las Cruces and White Sands to be convenient. And did I mention the views?
Now, the downsides:
- We had the bad judgement to be here over Memorial Day weekend, so there were some big, noisy groups. Shoulda known better.
- Leveling is a challenge. We "straddled the hump" on site 18 to get level front-back, then needed 4 blocks under the left tires to get levelish side-side.
