We are traveling thru to see the next national park but wanted full hookups from boondocking and they have it all, right at your site. We were here in the winter, so many sites are closed and the upper bathhouse is as well. I loved how you could walk across and grab a coffee, browse through the great gift shop and enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe just steps away from your campsite. $2.00 w/d laundry facilities (only missing a quarter machine, so bring plenty). The showers had great water pressure and temperature, the bathhouse was a bit dirty because I think they cut staff or lack there of during this season.
We pretty much had a clear view down to the water BUT remember, winter season. I could see how this place could get tight come summertime. Our pull thru site made it a breeze to hook up on the paved site. You will hear some road noise but honestly it wasn’t a bother. HEADS UP to make it easier on yourself and your partner, read the reviews prior to and note that CHECK IN is across the street. Park at the campground (go around by the bathhouse on the right) and have one person go check in, easy when you know;) feel free to check out my Instagram stories for Lake Tahoe. Cave rock is 5 minutes up the road and a 15min hike (kid/pet friendly) , Nevada Beach to play on is the opposite direction 8 min towards town and is a wonderful beach to enjoy as well as walk/run the trails.

We enjoyed our November stay here. We arrived after hours so we didn’t have to go through the hassle of running across the highway to check in. Our site number and park info was pinned to a bulletin board near the bath house. It was nice and quiet and there were not too many people. We had a nice, fairly level, pull-through site. In the summer I can see how it might be a little crowded, but I’d be willing to give it a try. A beautiful beach is right across the street & would be super fun in when it’s warm! We had a no-frills lunch (fish and chips) at the restaurant, which is rustic and has a nice view. Only about 10 minutes from South Lake. We did not use the showers but they were nice & private and clean. Our water hose did freeze one night - lesson learned for us!

Beautiful location. Hard to drive in to park, very tight area to back in to. Easy to leave. People very friendly. Arrived after hours and a grounds person helped us to find the space. Very clean and well kept.

Walk across the street to the beach. Beautiful sunsets.
Firewood was $11/bundle so stock up before you come or you can get at Safeway for $18/2 bundles.

Good location near the lake with beach access, but this was the worst site I’ve ever stayed on. It was unlevel to the extreme. Park is tight, but it wasn’t so bad during the week when it was low capacity, but on the weekend...yikes. As others mentioned, the check in process is unusual: leave rv in one area with limited space (near abandoned? park office) and cross highway to check in at gift shop. Don’t even think about asking to check in over the phone!
Dog friendly with plenty of walking room.

We won’t be back and I’d recommend you reconsider.
Park is pretty but right on the highway. Sites are laughably tight and crowded. Also very unlevel. Check in process was just stupid and frustrating. Campground security guy was very helpful.

To management: buy some Unifi Mesh Pro units. For less than $500 you could give free wifi to all of your rv guests. We would have stayed longer if there was wifi.

Nice campsite located within walking distance of Lake Tahoe. Beach access just across Highway 50. Forested campground with some rocky outcroppings. There is significant, loud, road-noise from Highway 50 which fronts the lower section of the campgrounds. The upper portion of the campground was closed for winter, but offers locations that would be shielded from road noise. See attached picture of campground map. Sites greater than number 180 would be ideal.
Seamless check-in. Some bathrooms closed, which we assumed was because of CV19 mitigations.
As noted in other reviews, campsites are situated very close together.
About 60 percent of the lower section of the campground was full.

We've stayed here many times in the fall and early winter. Shoulder season is easier to get a reservation. As others mentioned the sites are tight. We can get our 27ft Airstream through the trees and pulled into spots, but if you are new with back-in (or just don't like it) definitely get a pull-through spot.

Our check in was at the Zephyr Cove gift store next to the restaurant, not at the General Store like our email confirmation indicated. They had a crew member in the parking lot telling people where to go.
