Nasty Bathrooms. Bears In Camp. No Dogs Allowed. Expensive. The Only Reason It Gets 2 Stars Is Location. If You Have Self Contained RV And No Dogs, Maybe. Oh And Noisy As Hell.

Asked other campers and need to walk across the street to the hotel to check in. Our site is 27. The site is uneven. The sewer lid was on the high ground; need to drive far up and use a long hose to hook up. Tried the Wi-Fi; it’s not working. Walked to the hotel office again and was told that their system was down. My Verizon had only one bar in the camp. Eventually gave up the site and drove 4 miles away to the Raley’s parking lot to stay overnight.

Very nice spacious rv campsites among tall pine trees. Was there on a weekend in Sept and maybe 2/3 full. Shower houses are clean but dated. Walk across the road to get to the beach. Hook ups all good. Wifi generally good. Would definitely come back.

Next time I would try to get one of the sites around the perimeter of the campground as they seemed to be a little larger. Had water and electric hookups and a dump station on site. Shower room was ok, but a little dated. Always had hot water and never had to wait for an open shower even though there were only three.

The bathrooms need to be cleaned and updated. Very dated. Many of the sites are not level, so bring plenty of leveling blocks. Only a select few sites have sewer, but they do have a convenient dump station. Utilities are all at the front of the site, so bring you long extension cords. Bears are onsite. We heard people yelling at bears 2 of the nights we were there. So be sure to keep a clean site and use the bear boxes.

Dirt roads through pines to fairly tightly packed sites, but you can't beat the location right across from Lake Tahoe and along a great bike path. Note, when we checked in, we were told dogs were not allowed, but then it was suggested that if we had a service dog - or claimed that we did - there would be no verification required and we could stay without a problem, which we did! Lots of families with bikes and kayaks enjoying a summer camping experience on the lake. Secluded, no but a nice, friendly environment.

“Beware of fire charges (scam)”
noted 7/22/2022
Beware! They charge you a “unattended fire fee” of $150 if you make a fire. Then if you want backup, they threaten to turn it into the wildlife group with a potential $5,000 fine (which I said ok and still didn’t get backup).
We did not leave a fire unattended, there was no smoke or fire for at least 14 hours before we left - we put water on the fire! This is scam and a way for them to charge more. Beware! The safest answer is don’t make a fire at all as difficult to prove either way - or stay somewhere else!
Pretty place, but not honest people.
