Sites are a generous size and a nice distance apart. Same rate as we were charged at California state parks in the area but no showers which is a shame.
This review is from the last week of June which we spent camping around Lake Tahoe. Due to some change of plans, we ended up in three different campgrounds - also see reviews for Sugar Pine SP and Emerald Bay SP.

We really enjoy camping in this campground at Lake Tahoe. Paved roads, close to the beach, even a dog beach, nice bike trails, and lots of pine trees. Our wifi wasn't too good (even with our mifi unit).

This is a top notch camp. All spaces have a lake view through the trees! We traveled the different campgrounds in south lake tahoe and i honestly think that this place it the best.
Downside: No hookups and is completely tree covered so if you have solar on your rig you will still need to fire up the generator.

We loved our stay here. It hit all our buttons;- beautifully scenic, large spacious sites, and close to things to do. This is on Forest Service land that is in Nevada but run by California Land Management. A little confusing, but what is probably most important is that, unlike most USFS campground, it is reservable and not easy to get into. So if you want to be here at the weekend, and maybe even during the week, you should reserve.
I think the best spots are 20,22,24 and 26. They all face the water. 24 and 26 have the benefit of being on a little secluded loop away from the main campground.
A few hundred yards away is a beautiful beach with stunning views over the lake. There are some scenic trails right from the campground. From here you can also walk to a small shopping center with a Safeway, a coffee shop and some restaurants.
Facilities are a little lacking; there is water, but no dump station, and no showers only toilets. There is trash and recycling. No hook up sites here. Most sites are shaded so if you want sun for solar power be sure to look for the few sites that aren't densely wooded (24 and 26 for sure).
A 10 minute drive and you can be in Stateline and South Lake Tahoe with everything that area have to offer.

I spent a summer in Lake Tahoe when I was in college and I came back several years ago to ski. However, Austin has never been so I am really excited for him to see it! Fly over on the Fourth of Jul...
