"Magic"

Fantastic spot a mile off Hwy 395 between InyoKern and Lone Pine. Road is good and land is flat. We pulled in before dusk and feel we hit the jackpot.

Unfortunately, 70% of Lava Beds National Monument was burned in the Caldwell Fire which started on July 22, 2020. All dispersed camping in this area is located in a burn area.

"A wasteland "

Unfortunately, 70% of Lava Beds National Monument was burned in the Caldwell Fire which started on July 22, 2020. All the boondocking sites in the area are decimated. At this time, there is still a strong burnt smell in the area.
