“Great Find!”

Reviewed Sep 27, 2018

Overall Rating

We stayed one night en route to Montana and glad we did! We stayed here mid September, 2018 on a Saturday night and we were the only ones there! The entire CG is paved with 5 sites with one for tenters, and two are pull throughs that would fit bigger rigs. We stayed in the first pull through and were level all around. Even through this is right on the highway, it is relatively quiet because there is little traffic through this area. While we were there, a few people drove through to visit the site either the historic significance of it or the river. The river is beautiful here and we saw two bald eagles in the morning and a deer in the evening. We would definitely stay here again. This is an easy in and easy out CG. Regular fee is $5, but with National Parks Senior Pass is $2.50 a night. A great bargain.

“Great fishing, and close to Salmon, ID”

Reviewed Jul 27, 2017

Overall Rating

Stayed at Tower Rock Recreation Site in October 2016. Decent little BLM campground on the Salmon River. Half dozen spots or so, two of which back up to the river as well as a couple pull-throughs for big rigs. Picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, 2 boat ramps, a fishing area, trash dumpsters, and historical info about the Lewis & Clark expedition that went through here. ~10 miles from Salmon, ID. A cool little town worth exploring. Very popular spot for fly fishers and floaters. Fairly close to the road, but not much traffic.

Pretty sure I had 4G Verizon service, but I forgot to record how strong it was.
