“Fun Place”

Nice site, right by the boat ramp. Able to sit at ramp watch rafters go by. Some pulled their boats out there and we’re having a fun time which was fun to watch

I drove past pay to camp RV parks, and headed for Bobcat Gulch on a recommendation from a local in Salmon, ID. I'm glad I listened to him. While there was no cell service, the ground was level for our RV. Sleeping was peaceful, and the other campers were in general quiet, and we had plenty of privacy. This is good for one or more nights if you want to fish the river. It had extremely clean toilets of the pit type, with lights, and plenty of toilet paper.
There is one error in the pictures... What is marked a pull-through RV site, is actually where boaters turn around to position their boat for launches. It is not an RV area, and there is barely enough room to turn around my 18ft Coleman trailer.
No RV amenities whatsoever, other than the fancy pit toilet near the highway.

We cruised past the busy RV park because we wanted a quieter experience here. This spot was perfect! We were the only ones there and our kiddos enjoyed the freedom to run around and ride bikes to their hearts’ content. There are 4-5 spaces to park in and the spot that we chose could easily accommodate a large group of big rigs that were together. We tested out 2 different sites and they were pretty level. You can’t see the river from most of the sites because of a bit of brush, but we enjoyed falling asleep to it with our windows open. A quick walk on the little trail through about 10 feet of bushes and the river is at your feet. There are a few places that you can find a shallower rocky place for young ones to play, but the river is flowing faster and there is a grassy ledge that drops off to about a 3 foot depth for a majority of the river frontage - just beware. If you are a star gazer this spot is AWESOME. We set out a blanket and pillows and have never seen so many satellites pass next to a brilliant Milky Way - there is zero light pollution here. We did drive away with more mosquito bites than we arrived with, probably due to the marshy fields to the south of the campground. A great (FREE!) option that was spacious, quiet, and easy to access in our 31’ RV.
