This is a nice state park with very nice, helpful staff at checkin.
This is one of the few state parks in AZ that wasn’t completely booked during the week between Xmas and New Years We reserved this spot not knowing how full it would be but there ended up being a few spots still available.
• Three-loop campground
• Large paved sites
• Clean and the gravel picnic table area was raked
• Each site also had a large tent pad
• Hookups only
• No water as others have reported. Wells have been super low. Bring full tanks.
• Toilets and showers available but water conservation strongly encouraged.
• Lots of places to walk the dog without getting spiked.
Would definitely stay here again and do some of the hikes.
The park itself was quiet but some road noise can be heard. The stream of cars along the interstate is visible but the noise was not too bad. The downside is that trains run periodically through the day and night.

$30 was for a nice large site and included electric only. Restrooms & showers were clean. No water or sewer at site but there is a free dump. Hiking trails ranged from moderate to difficult. Noise from the freeway, I10, was not really an issue....all in all a great time

Easy to get into, helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful stars and desert scenery.
No sewer or water, but there is a dump site there at the park. The bathrooms and showers are great.
The ostrich farm just down the road was a lot of fun, and Picacho Peak is beautiful. Conveniently placed between Phoenix and Tucson.

The interstate is a mile East of the park, so it can be a bit loud and there are trains constantly running as well. But despite that it’s still a great place to camp. There is no water fill up or hook ups at the park and looks like it’s a permanent thing so plan ahead. There are only electric hookups at the RV sites but there is a dump station with two dumps. They also have bathrooms at the campsites. We had a great cell service with ATT and Verizon and were able to stream and work.

We had two vehicles and they quickly set us up with tags and a map and showed us where to go. This campground is beautiful! It has been recently paved, roads and campsites. Several are pull through sites and there is ample space between them, no crowding here. There is no water so bring your own. There are very nice, clean bathhouses with private showers. Some road noise but didn’t bother us. We really want to come back and stay a while

Picacho Peak is the most iconic landmark between Phoenix and Tucson from I-10, so worth the stop for overnighters and day hikers. We love to stay here during the Spring season with all the Mexican goldpoppies all around the base of the peak. Plenty of saguaros around and plenty of great hiking trails for the beginner to the advanced. The campgrounds only provides electric, NO water, and there's a dump station. So, bring plenty of water with you as sometimes the wells are dry here and can't resupply your tanks. The only drawback, if you're tent camping, is the interstate traffic close by and very busy railroad. The views definitely drown out the noise and this is a wonderful park to stay for a few days.

Otherwise, great place. At the foot of Picachu Mtn, great views north and east across miles of desert scrub, I-10 and lots and lots of iconic Saguaro cactus. Sites are large so do not feel crowded, and while access to I-10 is easy and close, it is very quiet. Pretty much anything from tents to the larger class A's fit comfortably. Flies were a bit of a bother, but hey, this is camping and the sunset/sunrises are stellar.

Nice place. No water hookups. Campsites are spaced apart adequately so no one is really on top of each other. Can hear interstate 10 which is a little unfortunate. I would recommend selecting a site that’s on the outside of the loops which provide great views. Overall this it’s a nice park.

The only thing I can add to the previous reviews is that there's no water hook-ups, Period. They claim on-line there's a 'water shortage' but they seemed to have removed all the water spigots from the sites. The showers and bathroom work just fine.
