“Camping among the cacti!”

Reviewed Nov 23, 2018

Overall Rating

This campsite is amazing! We have been on the road for almost a month now and have stayed at many campsites. This one is one of our favorites.

You literally are just camping among every kind of cactus you could imagine- including the giant ones! I will echo what the previous reviewer said though- I can’t image it being a great place to camp with a pet!!

There were several other people here, but the sites are very spread out, so you feel like you are the only one. The road to get in is dirt but was easy for us to take our minivan down. No bathrooms.

“Cactus Forest!”

Reviewed Nov 21, 2018

Overall Rating

Cattle Tank Rd (recently paved) to a gravel road (32.612627, -111.209088) which has very nice sites on either side (east and west). We brought our 35' Class A about 200' off of the road (west side) to a large spot which will accommodate our big rig, even allowing us turn around. If you are interested in staying here, I suggest pulling over next to the cattle tanks (32.612421, -111.209811) and walk or bicycle to find a site. As you go further down the gravel roads they become narrow and somewhat washed out. No problem if you have a smaller rig or just tent camping but there are not many places to turn around unless you destroy some of the beautiful plants, which is a shame. Fantastic cactus forest. Beautiful sunrise/sunsets. Just be aware of your surroundings, specifically hanging out in washes. Verizon is decent. AT&T is unusable without amplification. I couldn't imagine having a pet among this cactus forest. Thorny plants EVERYWHERE.
