Beautiful Sunsets between Tucson and Phoenix... If you don't mind 40 minutes to Tucson and 60 to Phoenix, it is a very nice state park. Level double wide paved sites with terraced entertainment areas with metal picnic tables and fire pits. Nice staff and very clean. Yes, only electric and dump but if you come with full water and empty waste, it is great. The showers were fine with good pressure and plenty hot water. Showers are convenient in all 3 loops. Site B25 is right across loop from B loop showers.

The only downside of this state part is that the site are electric-only, no water or sewer. A pumpout is available when you leave but no water. But the sites are big an the scenery is beautiful. No freeway or train noise here, which exists at the rv park down the road.

Stayed here over the holidays in our 39ft 5th wheel. Sites were level and paved. The park has some trails with considerate elevation gains but little else to offer. Due to low water levels in their wells there was no potable water for the campers. This required a 25 mile RT journey to the nearest town to fill tanks multiple times during our stay. There is WiFi for purchase but at a unreasonable rate. Cell reception is good as well as over air TV. The noise from trains, interstate highway and helicopters from the nearby AFB is constant even during the night. Most state parks are peaceful and enjoyable, this one was not.

Now the good part. If you don't need water, the lack of it here scares off tons of campers, so sites are readily available. And if you suddenly need an electrical connection to run a heater during a cold spell you can reliably find it here. And the Verizon speed is blazing.

What a nice state park - the campground guests are very quiet and polite, no permanent residents.
The excellent staff is friendly, and the desert setting is beautiful.
There is some noise from traffic on I-10 and some trains but they are a ways off and become background noise while inside the rv. There are no cars drag racing or playing their car stereo at 11 near the campground.
The campground loop roads are one way and there is plenty of space to back up your rv or choose a pull through site. Some sites have a slight slope, you may need to use blocks.
The sites are electricity only, no water or sewer at the sites.
You need to arrive with a full fresh water tank.
The park is really in the middle of nowhere between Casa Grande and Tuscon.

We loved our time at Picacho Peak. The hiking was wonderful and the campsites were spacious and surrounded by Saguaro. You do have to arrive with a full water tank! (At least when we were there in Feb 2021). The bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot. We had lovely neighbors and an overall wonderful time.

I gave this campground 4 stars but with lots of reservations. True, it is close to I10 but its location is not ideal. For us, it was a little too close to Tucson, but at 37 miles away, too far away to be a base for a visit there. And, it is over an hour to Phoenix. As a destination, we found not much to do there. The town of Eloy has nothing to offer, no good supermarket or wine/liquor stores, though Casa Grande to the north has everything.
As to the positives, sites are well maintained, and many are well spaced. The bathrooms are large and very clean. Oddly, though there was no potable water available, the showers were. Our site, C19, was level and large. Though we could see traffic on I10, we could not hear it. There is a dump station at the entrance. One could bicycle the roads but they are very hilly.
IMO most AZ state parks are very good. This one, however, is not up to that standard. As others have mentioned, take the drinking water you will need as no potable water is available. Also, there are only 2 ramadas for shade for about 27 sites in the C loop, so make sure you have an awning of some type. I was told I could pay $3.95 for wifi but that the speed was glacial, so I declined to try it.
Bottom line: okay for one night but $35 seems alot to pay for electricity only and little to no ambience.

We arrived at near dark. But the camp host Jim was very helpful. The road is asphalt. Our site was asphalt too.
We had the handicap site, PCP-C4. It’s very wide. I had no problem pulling the side ramp out on the car and there was plenty of wheelchair room at the end of the ramp. The length of the site had more than enough space so that we could put the ramp down on the camper and have plenty of wheelchair room.
The picnic table is on cement and covered. There is a grill and a fire pit.
I cannot comment on the bathrooms as we didn’t use them or the trails.
The whole place is hilly so if you are pushing a wheelchair or using your own power it would be tough. We stayed in our site.
The charge for the night was $30 but there was a $5 “reservation fee” do $35.
The sunset was gorgeous.
