Overall Rating
All FF, we spent Saturday night in the boat ramp RV spots at Ice House campground (basically in the parking lot for $28/night) and then walked through one of the Ice House loops and Northwind on Sunday morning to see what was open. Found quite a few spots and picked #5 in Northwind, at the end of the loop. It was amazing, wish we could stay longer. Nice fire ring area, picnic table (a little rotted), fairly secluded, access to its own beach area.
Only pit toilets that we didn’t use. Bought firewood at Ice House from hosts for $8. Northwind has bigger and nicer spots than Ice House (but Ice House has showers and other amenities if you need them) or Strawberry Point. Northwind and Strawberry Point are $10/night. Cash or check only at all three. Had 1-2 bars of AT&T depending on location, no Verizon.
