We reserved pull-thru site #A06 because it was out in the open, necessary for solar, and it looked big enough for us. It wound up being kind of tight, as the curved pull-thru was very narrow with rock curbs on each side. Since our 46' fifth wheel doesn't bend in the middle, it was difficult to get out without scraping the tires of the truck OR the trailer. We backed out, and it took a lot of back-and-forth to get it done. We're 68' long with our trailer and Freightliner HDT combined, but the location was worth the extra effort. The campground was very clean, bathrooms older and also clean. Some sites are right on the river, some have lots of shade, some are in the open. Most sites are short, only a couple would fit a rig our size but the issues are the same, narrow with those rock curbs to get in your way. Beautiful area, can't beat it for ease of access if you're smaller and doing the Blue Ridge Parkway. We were there 4 nights, it was never full but the campground was closing at noon on Oct. 30, three days after we left, so keep that in mind if you're traveling later in the season. AT&T service was so bad our phones hung up on us when we tried to us them for a task. Texts could get through. Dump station is on spur road between campground and parkway, very tight for large rigs, we didn't attempt. Water spigots around, the one near us had brown water even after use. Others seemed clearer.

This was in mid October, maybe not so bad in summer? But there were (loud) generators running all night long despite the "no generators after 9pm rule."
Bathrooms are old but cleaned daily. Occasional cell service, but not consistent even with a booster.
Despite being only a mile from the Linville Falls visitor's center and trails, there is no trail from the campground, so if you don't want to drive (and deal with the full parking lot), you have to walk along a fairly busy spur road. The Linville Falls trails are lovely, but plan to drive and plan to go early to get a parking spot.
Spouse said fishing was great! He walked down to the Linville River and spent a morning casting, catching several big trout.

Water is available and there is a nice dump station. I did see sites with electricity!

Very nice campground, This was a pull thru with lots of room to spare. It was a sunny level site. This campground does not have showers but some of the parks along the parkway do.

This campground was just okay. Location was good, just off the Blue Ridge parkway. No trails leaving from CG but 1 mile down the road is the Linville Falls visitor center with great trails. Too bad there is no trail connecting the CG with the visitor center. You have to walk on the road. Bathrooms need a deep cleaning.

Now to all the good. The sites were very pretty. Some are right near the river, others are in a bit of tree clusters and some are in open fields, which is great if you’re relying on solar power. It was fairly quiet while we were there and the park ranger walked around regularly after quiet time making sure no one had their generator going.
We got lucky and hit peak fall colors. It was absolutely stunning. And it was so close to the blue ridge parkway and all of the surrounding activities (falls, caverns, etc) that we were blown away at every turn. There is also a winery that is close and that was a treat.
Definitely no service for Verizon. It’d say we had 1 bar of LTE but that was a lie most of the time. Texts usually took 5min to send and sending photos was fruitless.

A very popular destination on weekends too (which was when we visited.)
As others have mentioned, there's no hiking from the campground and the trails to falls are about a mile up the road. As we travel in a van, that meant leaving our site or taking the bikes (and there's no bike racks at the visitor's center!!). But the hikes ARE gorgeous, albeit a bit crowded.
But the worst thing about this campground? Even with all the mobile internet tools we travel with (multiple routers, antennas, boosters, hotspots, all four carriers) - the best we could do was get enough intermittent AT&T signal to do text based surfing. And we spent hours trying to get something usable here.

We arrived in a Saturday and with a full park the sites are a little close (for a Natl park). No hiking trails from the campground - need to drive to trailheads. But great hiking!
After the first night we switched from A03 to A07 for a more level parking site.
Campground staff was really friendly and helpful.

Most sites are paved and many are without hookups, which was fine for us. The site was short but wide, so you had to block the road at arrival and departure. The TV parks beside the trailer, so it fit our 19ft but longer rigs need a different site. Spacing and privacy was ok. Fine mid-week, at about half full, but the weekends would be too close for us. No service for verizon or T-mobile without booster. 2 bars for T-Mobile with booster.
