We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Very interesting ruins with paved interpretive walkways on one while the other is a more primitive trail with lots of ancient pottery shards strewn all over. The visitor center is small but well worth the visit and has souvenirs (books, magnets, t-shirts, etc..) for sale. The rangers are very informative and will share detailed history about the areas inhabitants. Sites are paved, well spaced, and have 30 amp and water. Dump station on site. Expansive desert views! We stayed in a fifth wheel and it was quiet inside but you’ll probably hear distant freeway and train noise at night if you’re in a tent. Burros roam here too!

Some water only. We just had water but was fine for us as we are self contained. Dump station near entrance/exit. Didn't check out the washrooms but looked well maintained & they have showers! Our site was level looking towards the west making for a great sunset. We could see the interstate & the railway, but didn't hear it at all! Although we just stopped over for 1 night, we did explore the ruins & want to come back to do more.

The park was quiet, bathrooms were very clean, and we had water & electric hook-ups. The only downfall, there is very little shade.
The ruins in the park were interesting, too.
We definitely will stay here again, as there is much to do in the surrounding area.

Good location just a few miles off the highway. Some noise but off in the distance. Nice sites with lots of amenities- electric, water, shower, bathroom, propane. Paved driveway and parking spots. Really affordable. The only downsides are there is no privacy and lots of flies.

Not many choices in NE Az but Homlovi SP is a decent overnight. Campground is small but well maintained. Indian ruins are the park highlight, with hiking trails thru desolate desert. It’s hot in the summertime so plan accordingly.

So THIS is what it's like to camp out in the desert! Hauntingly beautiful desert landscape near Indian ruins. Very large campsites that are NOT on top of each other. Not much shade. Very well kept, quiet place.

Homolovi SP was easy to find off I-40, just follow the signs. We went straight to the campground (CG) as the entry shack was not occupied. We should have gone to the Visitors Center and register first, which we did immediately after setting up, but we had reservations and our site number. The visitors center parking lot is fairly small, but we could have parked there with our 39’ 5th Wheel. We easily parked in pull through site 28 with 50 AMP & water. The pull throughs on the right side of the road in the 20 and 30 area all have the 50 & 30 AMP electric and water on the passenger/RV door side. The site was plenty long and we had no problem positioning and running our electric and water under the rig. Sites throughout the CG are nicely spaced apart. The Arizona State Park website provides excellent details on sites and camping here. We saw quite a few overnighters each day during our 3 nights stay over a weekend in June, and the park was never full. Suggest you bring ant spray as the little buggers headed up the stairs soon after arrival. Early one morning we walked the mile down to the Homolovi 1 ruins and were pleasantly surprised by a small herd of donkeys that posed for pictures but didn’t get too close. We also drove over to the Homolovi II ruins. Lots of history in this SP. We drove the short distance to Winslow where we were “Standing on a Corner” and did a supply run to Walmart and Safeway. We enjoyed our three nights stay in our spacious site with desert views.

Nice, spacious campground near I-40, especially welcome with 60 mph winds all day. Easy access, easy pull in, water even if you don’t pick an electric site. Nice short walks to interesting features when the wind dies down.

As you can see I made the reservation on Memorial Day weekend. We were so busy I didn’t review the confirmation email until the next week. The agent mistakingly made the reservation for May 27, 2018.
When I called to point this out, ( after the 27th passed), I was informed they wouldn’t make that type of mistake and it was my fault. Funny!!! When they made the reservation they put the wrong name on the reservation. Not even close to my name. They excused themselves for that mistake but not for the one that cost me $35.00.
As I said before BE VERY VERY CAREFUL MAKING RESERVATIONS!!!
