Really nice park to stay at for passing through. Nice view of reservoir. However, there was a nasty plant putting thorn/briars into the bottom of our shoes. Burrs had a really hard 1/4 inch sharp spike. I had to make sure our dog stayed on the pavement & she still got burrs in her feet. We were there in mid March. We had fun stopping a... more

Nice quiet place stay. Restroom old, but clean. Pretty lake. Make sure to have a meal at La Posada in Winslow.

Host is there but never came out of his rig in the 3 days we were here.
The Clear Creek is not clear at all. Stale, muddy, dirty water. The canyon is stunning tho! 4 hours round trip paddleboarding right from the campsite.
Trains go by often but not too close.
Garbage dumpster available.

Lovely sites along the reservoir with birds and ducks. Quiet most of the time. Boats come and go but not overtaking.
Sites above with white wood separators are not as nice.
The place is full of prickly sticklers so it’s a pain for dogs. We didn’t stay longer because of that issue.

Would have preferred to stay in state park closer to town but it was full snd the lake is pretty. Very windy the night we were there but that’s just a function if weather. Might have put our kayaks in if it weren’t so cold.

We stayed here for two weeks and really enjoyed our time here. We were along most of the time. There are a good amount of day users, just not many campers. For the money, you don't get much except for the peace, quiet and lovely setting. We set up right on the water and had our own personal beach; not really others used it, but we were able to keep our kayaks right there. Clear Creek that feeds into the reservoir is amazingly beautiful. The further up you go the canyon walls are steeper and it just becomes a beautiful little oasis up there. The creek and the reservoir is very popular with people staying for the day either kayaking or fishing or both. Cell service was adequate.

Clean and quite campground. Dry camping, but bathrooms exist and a dumpster. Most sites are level and have plenty of room (we are 25' RV + Jeep = 42 ft). A pay station at the entrance will take your credit card payment of $15/nite. We used this as our base for visiting Winslow and then 1 hour away Petrified National Monument. Best low cost option we could find.

No hook-ups, no dump station, no potable water so $15/night seems a bit high. The restrooms were being worked on while we were there. But the sites are huge with plenty of space between them. There is a camp host though I never saw them in my 5 days there. The campground is clean but there is a lot of "old trash". Rusty bottle caps, nails, barbed wire. Things that have been there for years and blend into the environment, no discredit towards the host. But watch your dogs nonetheless.
Homolovi State Park is 5 miles up the road with some interesting ruins. They also have a dump station though I don't know if it's free.
Petrified Forest National Park is an hour down I-40. It is one of the least visited National Parks. It deserves way more recognition. This campground is the perfect spot for a day trip since there are very few places to camp around there. And if you have enough time on the way back take a detour through the Hopi reservation.
Oh, and of course go stand on the corner in Winslow.
