“A quiet, scenic campground with great access to Voyageurs National Park”

Reviewed Jul 21, 2016

Overall Rating

We came here to be close to Voyageurs National Park. It's one of the few public campgrounds on the shores of Lake Kebetogama, and an excellent location if you want to explore the lake. There's an easy access boat ramp, and plenty of places to rent kayaks or canoes if you don't have your own.

The campground is very rustic (and very affordable) with no hook-ups and no showers, but the sites are fairly large with lots of trees for privacy. While some of the sites are big, larger RVs should use caution when driving around the narrow roads with a few tight turns. They don't take reservations, but during our stay there was always plenty of open sites.

Be sure to bring bug spray as the mosquito here are plentiful!

Also, with our cell booster we got 4 bars of both Verizon and AT&T.

“Blissfully Secluded and Close to Voyageurs National Park”

Reviewed Aug 07, 2015

Overall Rating

I loved everything about this place. The location, the privacy, great signal, and close to a really, really amazing National Park. There are lots of trees, so solar wasn't great. We did run our generator to keep topped up, but that's why we have it. Its also northern Minnesota (mosquitoes) so we were grateful for our screened bug net to put over the picnic table. Walking along the shore of lake Kabetogama was beautiful, and we rented canoes at Arrowhead Lodge & Resort to go explore the water. Tons of small islands (camp spots out there too if you are brave) to explore and a small beach that the kids loved to play at down at the day use area.

Road is pretty tight so I wouldn't take a huge rig in here, but our 27' Airstream did just fine.

We had great signal with our cell booster - up to more like 3 or 4 bars Verizon LTE.
