I can't remember our exact site number, but it backed to the forest and was enormous. Trees on all sides with forest in between sites; very private. I think as you drive further in, the sites get bigger. I am pretty sure our site was in the 50s. It wasn't super wide, but went very far back. Cell service was strong here, which was a pleasant surprise. The location is great, being right on the lake. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Happened upon this jewel on a whim. We squeezed into site 49, then discovered a couple more further along the loop that would have worked better for us - Lesson ---- do not grab the first one you come to... you can always come back around. As it was, this site was actually beautiful - fairly level - wicked private. We only stayed one night and did not require the use of any of the facilities. For us, the beauty of the forest - the fabulous night sky and the absolute quiet was the BEST. Will definitely come back and stay longer next time.

I mean, tangled cottonwoods and birch, sumac and these adorable cartoonish squirrels running through it all isn’t bad. A nice big campground loop, some sites spread way out (and others absolutely not) and the immediate access to both a canoe put in, bigger boat access and cute little beach helped, too. Oh and the sunsets. Every night, without fail. That stuff was okay. But the ability to pay by credit card when you don’t have exact change, at an iron ranger!?!?!
I take that as proof that humankind has a chance on this planet.
We snagged site #4, the best in the park in my kittens worth of opinions, despite rolling in on a Saturday morning in August. There were maybe 5 other open spots of the 59 in the campground. Weekdays cleared out like shelves on a K-Mart closing sale.
I was able to build parts of the Internet, stream a sad but true movie about a gorilla who could draw and upload photos to Instagram with the Verizon service.
Arrowhead Lodge, 1 minute from the campground entrance, rents canoes and pontoons (the latter for a minimum of a week at a time though) and the lake is fantastic. If you get out into it, look for the rope swing on the island in Echo Bay.
If it weren’t for the credit card jubilation in my soul, I may have also appreciated seeing a red fox near the front of the campground, too.

Right on the lake (Kabetogama) and near Voyagers national Park. CG is a good value with plenty of shade and being close to the lake keeps it cooler. It’s first come first serve but there were plenty of spots available on a Thursday morning in mid July.

Our site was very level, we didn’t have to use anything to level out our rig. It was a very quiet night, you see can tons of stars on a cloudless night. I regret not being able to spend more time there.

Weekends there is space but may be limited access for larger rigs. we have a 35' 5th Wheel. Sites are grass and not level so be sure to bring blocks to get your rig level. Site #2 had great sunlight so we were able to use our solar to charge our batteries. There are many who use generators but it is quiet at night. There are trails around lake and lots of fisherman and boats on the lake during the day. Campground is close to Voyagers National Forest.

We stayed here one night while on a trip to check out the area. We arrived later in the day to find a site overlooking the water. The site was smaller and just okay. The lake looked nice and the privacy was good. I was hoping to check out more of Voyageurs National park, but it seems like you have to boat to the island to do that.

This is a large and very nice campground. Unless you have a boat to take you and your camping gear to a campsite in Voyageurs this is a nice place to stay.
