"Cool Camping @ 8000' elevation"

Although this spot is way outta the way for most people, it does have its advantages. Elevation is over 8000 feet which means - pine trees (shade), views (night sky and valley below) and altitude (coolest place for miles). The trailhead for... Read more

"En Route Camping"

If you can stand listening to the highway all night, this is a small NFS campground located on a busy stretch of road. The creek is louder than the traffic, so that helps. Great forested area N of Truckee, CALIFORNIA Mountain bikers love this spot.
