Site was well taken care of and not littered everywhere. You will find occasional TP in the brush when you go to do your bathroom break as there is no restrooms there. It may be the time of the year but a good amount of pesky flies and bugs were present. Mid-July

Looking for a quiet night away from the busy campgrounds of Mount Pinos? FREE CAMPING. If you don't mind a little dirt road driving, head over to Quatal Canyon for Toad Springs. Camp is less than 1 mile from highway. Minimal facilities - picnic tables and fire pits. No toilets! Wildlife visits marshy creek with meadow at dusk and dawn. Bird watching excellent. Mountain lions have been seen/heard around here, so be aware. Down canyon is all dirt - miles and miles of back roads in a high desert wash leading out to Hwy 33. Chumash Wilderness boundary is close by. Hiking, off road trails, wildflowers, stargazing and target shooting. Locals from Frazier Park like to congregate here on weekends.

OK spot for the night (can be windy). Nothing interesting to spend more than a night here.
Several spots. Fire rings. No toilets. Access might be a tricky for a low vehicle.
