BLM 144 is the first (I think) boondocking option off I-70 as you head south to Moab. It is a quiet option if you don't want to fight for a spot in Moab.
The clay road in was rutted from the recent rain but had dried out - not sure this would...
If you are in this area then you are probably going somewhere else. This is a great place to sleep.
Arrived at 11pm to find a van and a pop up camper already parked and buttoned up. We parked right next to the boat ramp and went to sleep....
Maybe the best campground we have ever stayed. Spacious private sites. Each site is unique. Most sites have direct river access. The campground hosts were kind and gave us a book on Idaho trees...
This was one of the places we wish we spent...
As there are really no dispersed options on the 18 road this campground is a great option. Great views down the valley, tons of sites and not usually full. The best part is the trails literally go thru the campground.
Some places are there for you when you just need to overnight. This is one of those.
Was it cheap? Yes.
Will there be vacancy? Most likely.
Was it pretty quiet? Yep.
Were there fish in the lake? I have no idea.
Were there mosquitoes and...
Nothing special here except the strange bugs that hovered above my head. We called it Sheep Sh1t Reservoir...for the obvious reason...plenty of space for you and the sheep!
Not many “cooler” stops between Salina and Grand Junction. Sheep creek road makes a welcome rest of aspen and green. Head south on Sheep Creek road and there are immediately a few spots...with no cell. We camped alone at...
Probably the worst national Park campground ever. Very little privacy. Very little upkeep. The dry wild grasses were growing into the fire pit. Is that a spot? It has a grill...but does not look like a spot. The showers are a days hike...
Wonderful spot to stay to explore Great Basin NP. The creek splits thru the campground so it’s hard not to hear the creek at night. It seems everything has been reconfigured and newly paved from what you see on google maps. We stayed in site 20...
It’s a campground without camp sites. Perfect.
“Excuse me...do you mind if we pull right next to you?”
We are all looking for the same thing...a place to camp in Moab for the weekend. 5th wheel? Class A? Vanlifer? Tent? Sure! Come on in...
