“Quiet. Nice Views.”

Reviewed Mar 27, 2018

It was WINDY the night we stayed. Nice sites. Quiet. Ranger was very helpful and delivered firewood to us. We were just passing thru so location near I-25 worked well as I could not imagine staying more than a night or 2 here...

“Nice but VERY expensive!!”

Reviewed May 12, 2017

Lathrop State Park is a beautiful park with beautiful views of the Spanish Peaks. It's easily accessible from Hwy 160, and the spaces are large and spaced decently apart. The GOTCHA is that it's expensive after all the fees! Electric Campsite (per day) = $24.00 State Park Entry Fee (per day)= $7.00 Reserve America Transaction ... more

“Nice But A Bit Spendy”

Reviewed Apr 09, 2017

Overall Rating

We spent 3 nights here in the Pinion Campground. As others said the sites are well spaced and very private, which is super important to us. There are water spigots every few sites, the closest one to us was across the road. I needed to fill our tanks before we left and was able to run a hose across the road from the spigot to u... more

“Good place for a 2 or 3 night stay”

This campground is part of Lathrop State Park. There are two sections: The Pinon section has electric and several spigots to fill from around the loops. Yucca smaller, with back-in sites, no electric, for, as the State web page says: "a basic camping experience". We stayed in Pinon. Well spaced sites for the most part, lots of... more

“A wonderful campground inside Lathrop State Park near the I-25 corridor”

Reviewed Aug 09, 2016

Overall Rating

This campground and the associated Colorado State Park (Lathrop SP) are a real find. All of the sites are large and well spaced. All of the sites in the Pinion CG are electric and there are plenty of water spigots around the campground. Some of the spigots are even close enough to the sites to use the regular water hose to fill up y... more
